527 Carbine - Article in American Rifleman
« on: October 17, 2003, 09:42:24 AM »
There is an interesting article in the current issue of American Rifleman with a test of the 527 carbine.  The article is generally favorable but contains some erroneous information about the bore diameter.  They state that the diameter is .308.  I called CZ to get a verification that the diameter is .311 and the gun is built for standard 7.62 x 39 ammo.

While on the phone with CZ I also asked them about using Wolf ammo in the gun and was told it was OK to do that.

The test results in the article showed an average grouping for the Wolf ammo to be 2.23 inches at 50 yards.  The average using Winchester was 1.68 inches.

I was wondering what the rest of you fellows are getting for group size with your wolf ammo? For that matter what other ammo is being used and the 100 yard results?

Over on The High Road Forum there is a report by a fellow who took his new Carbine out for the first time and used PMC ammo (I think).  He says he was getting groups at 100 yards of 2-3 inches with some a lot smaller than that.
