CZ 40P dovetail red dot mount

Hi Everyone, my first post here in the forum. I'm Wondering if anyone knows if there is a dovetail red dot Mount that will fit on the CZ 40P.

My concern would be CZ used some thing different back in the day though. Been a long time since I looked at the 40P. If I have a chance tomorrow I’ll compare the cuts. No guarantee there’s a jazz and beer festival going on.

Haven’t had a chance to look at the 40P, but I think it was a different cut. That was one of reasons it stayed a safe Queen: nothing fit.

Hold on, I don't think that's right.  40Ps do not use a P01 slide.  They use a 40B slide left over from the Colt contract.  The sight cuts are absolutely not P01 cuts.  They are Colt Defender cuts that are very difficult to find anything that fits them. 

I have a 40P and a spare 40P slide that I run on a 75B Compact in .40 and would love to find replacement sights, but nobody makes them.  You used to be able to find Big Dot sights for the 40P and 40B but I don't know if they still produce them.

The 40P  frame is essentially a P06 frame, which is the same as the P01.  If CZ put a P01 slide on it, it would just be another P01.

Yikes your history lesson is 100%. I totally blew that. Guess I need to get to the back of the safe more often.

No worries.  I need to get mine out more often than I do too.  They are lucky to get a bit of range time one every couple of years.  They really should be run more often that that.

Well I guess it's time to take it to the local gun smith who just bought a new CnC machine with all the Bell's and whistles and see what he can do.  Thanks for the help. If he can make one or figure out a way to attach a red dot I'll let everyone know and post some pictures.
