Nothing at all wrong with the P07 & P09. Infact, they are my favorite polymer pistols out there. Just would be nice to see a OR version with better grip texture. That is really the only changes I would like to see.

No interest in anything striker fired and ZERO interest in anything that I can't get a complete hand on or needs a mag extension to do so.
Same here + zero interest in anything that has a manual safety.

S2 is the exception because I never use it cocked and locked and the low profile safeties may as well not even be there.

The Shield Plus manages recoil in a way I never thought they'd accomplish. Having a manual safety option makes it preferable over a similarly-sized P10 unless the P10 mitigates recoil even better.

Haven't shot a P10M. How does that compare to the Shield Plus?

It seems that an OR P-07 would be a huge deal, but more likely a hammer-fired micro compact would sell in the current market. I'd buy one.

I wouldn't recommend that new M&P (or S&W) CSX, or whatever they call it.  I don't even hear the members on the M&P Pistol forum talking about buying those.  Haven't seen other good things about them on other forums either.  To be honest, most of the "talk" these days on that M&P Pistol forum is about the Shield variants.  Not the EZ variants, the regular Shields and Shield Plus pistols.

If you're doing hammer fired there are the EZ pistols (don't figure you'll like them if you like CZs for nice shot group reasons) and that new Equalizer.  The Equalizer may be alright but I've not decided yet (won't be trading my Shield Plus in on one, that's for sure).

If you have trouble with your hands and struggle to rack the slide on a pistol the Equalizer uses the same easy rack technology as the Shield EZ pistols.  Lighter recoil spring with an internal/covered hammer that absorbs some of the force from the rear moving slide.  I bought my wife an Equalizer this winter as she's having problem racking the slide on the standard Shield.  And then found out the Shield Plus uses the same magazines as the Equalizer ;D so once she starts carrying the Equalizer I'll carry the Shield Plus and we'll be carrying the same magazines again.

Not saying that idea (magazine/ammo sharing) is important to eveyone, but it is to me, when the opportunity is there.  With the Shield Plus I'm not sacrificing groups, reliability or magazine capacity.  And it's smaller (width) than many other carry pistols with similar round counts.

Hard to tell what CZ is coming out with this summer.  Maybe an updated version of one of the many models they've stopped making the last couple years.  Maybe that's why the rumors are going around the P07 is going away.  The old P07 is dead.  Long live the new P07.  You know.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

That’s all we need, another $$$$ competition pistol, maybe in purple this time.

The evolution in pistols is towards optics ready concealed carry subcompacts with light rails, so of course Colt CZ is doing something totally different and largely irrelevant. That Colt upper management is starting to show.

Those $$$$ competition pistols give CZ a lot of name recognition and makes a lot of money for CZ. That money allows for CZ to invest in the development of those optics ready concealed carry subcompacts that you speak of.

Besides, the competition scene is bigger than most suspect. It's a major event in Europe and around the world.

Those $$$$ competition pistols are a lot like the Chevrolet Corvette. Over the years the Corvette has drawn many people into the showrooms to look at it.  While the Corvette did make money for Chevrolet, but it's greater value was to get people in the showroom. The fact that they wound up not buying a Corvette, but instead bought those family cars and SUV's made Chevrolet into a major auto manufacturer.

That's why most car manufacturers have their halo cars. Look at how Ford built their Ford GT, or Dodge their Viper and Hell Cats.  Dodge didn't sell many Vipers but they sure cleaned up on their minivans and 4 door sedans.

Besides, you might be surprised at just how popular those competition pistols really are. Even people who do not compete want to be able to own one. They may not be ever able to use it's full potential, but they want one nonetheless.  Just look and see if you can find a CZ Tactical Sport 2 Orange anywhere for sale. Chances are you won't. They are in such demand that even Gunbroker doesn't have any.  And even though people may want that TS2 Orange but can't afford it or find one, they sure are buying up those Shadow 2s.

Take a look at Dan Wesson which is CZ owned. They can't keep up with demand for their product, and most DW's are in the $2000 range. People want those high dollar pistols and are willing to pay the extra money for them. It's good business sense.

You're exactly right. I'll never buy a 'competition' CZ, but what CZ learns with their competition pistols does trickle down to the 75b, P-01, and every other pistol they make.

It's also tiring to hear the whine about Colt now owned by CZ. It was a good business decision for CZ and Colt. Don't like that decision? Buy another brand in protest and see who really cares.

I was having a "gun" conversation with a nephew of mine and he forwarded me a Forgotten Weapons link about the Laugo Alien in 9 mm. It's another Czech-made gun that is radically different.  In the video, it was mentioned that the inventor of this mechanism had worked with CZUB on the Scorpion EVO and then later left to develop the Alien.

What "if" CZUB is in negotiations with the inventor to bring that design out as a CZ product in April?

It is rather a radical design:
  • a very, very low bore axis (think the Chiappa Rhino low!)
  • magazines are designed to accept extensions to 17 rounds
  • the barrel is "fixed" in place so no tilting
  • the slide is 2-piece (think top insert) so that optics and front sight stay fixed
  • there are TWO (2) inserts:  iron sights & optics
  • the trigger mechanism "looks" striker-fired, but is actually an internal hammer
  • it uses "reverse" gas porting inside an "upper" assembly portion of the barrel
  • and you won't believe the sear!

The Laugo website doesn't list any US dealers, but there a more than a few of these being offered at present on Gunbroker.com and the asking prices put it up there with the FKBRNO Field Pistol.

I've got a TS2 orange arriving this Friday or Saturday.  Can't wait to see how it compares to my DWX, you know another one of those $$$$$ pistols no one wants.

People in the USA don't realize how big of a market those pistols targeted to ispc really is.

@sevt_chevelle.  Congratulations on the TS2 Orange. I've been looking for one since they were introduced and can't find one anywhere.  Even Gunbroker doesn't list any. Care to point me in a direction where one can be found?

I just got my DWX this week and the TS2 Orange is the next one on my list.

I know CZ competition pistols aren't for everyone, but I'll get every one I can afford. I'm not the best shooter out there and definitely can't use them to their full potential, but they have made me a better shooter and I enjoy them immensely.

Let us know how the TS2 Orange works out and your opinion on how it compares to the DWX.

CZ UB bought the Scorpion EVO design from Laugo several years ago, but it seems I heard there was some bad blood between Laugo and CZ UB as a result of that transaction.

It does appear that the Luago Alien is indeed coming to the US, but I doubt that it will be CZ that is doing it. Announced in January 2023 that Luago Arms is opening shop in the US.

LAUGO ARMS ANNOUNCES U.S. OPERATION
January 1, 2023
Laugo Arms Czechoslovakia announced today the opening of a new U.S. based operation, Laugo Arms USA. Effective January 15, 2023, Laugo Arms USA will assume all sales, marketing, customer service, distribution and warranty repair services for the Laugo Arms Alien pistol, in the United States.
“With significant investment in production capacity enhancements now coming online, we’re very pleased to announce the opening of our new U.S. business, Laugo Arms USA,” said Daniel Selichar, CEO of Laugo Arms Czechoslovakia. “We believe that these investments in plant, personnel, and equipment will allow us to effectively meet the growing demand for the Laugo Alien, in all of our key markets.” Selichar continued,
“We would like to thank Lancer Systems for recognizing the Alien’s potential, and for their fantastic efforts in building a solid distribution base from which we will continue to service our loyal customers and grow our business in the United States.”
Introduced to the U.S. market in 2020 by the exclusive distributor, Lancer Systems, the Laugo Arms Alien has quickly become recognized for its unique design, technological advancement and blistering performance. Allon Bloch, CEO of Lancer Systems remarked, “We are thrilled to have played a role in bringing the first true advancement in semi-automatic pistol technology in decades, to the U.S. market. We wish the Laugo team and all the early adopters of this amazing pistol continued success.”
Effective January 15, 2023, all current and future Laugo Alien customers should contact Laugo Arms USA by visiting www.laugoarmsusa.com. Those interested in the immediate purchase of a Laugo Arms Alien are encouraged to contact Lancer Systems. Lancer Systems will continue to provide world-class sales, service and customer support, along with unique opportunities to purchase an Alien from remaining inventory, until the January 15, 2023 transition. For more information on Laugo Arms USA, please visit www.laugoarmsusa.com or contact us at usa@laugoarms.com.

Glad to see that the Alien is coming as it is a very interesting and advanced design. The way the announcement reads, if I'm correct, is that production will be increased but will stay in Czechoslovakia, but everything else from sales to warranty service will come to the US.
My only hope is that the price can be brought down to where the average person can afford it.
