Shadow 2 OR slide serrations…
« on: March 19, 2023, 09:22:34 PM »
I ordered a Shadow 2 OR and picked it up from my ffl last week. One of the things that kept me from buying one earlier was the lack of rear slide serrations. Iknow a lot of people use the front serrations to rack the slide, but I just didn’t like the looks of it. My plan was to see if someone would mill the slide. Was pleasantly surprised to see that it already had them ! Anyone else seen one with the rear slide serrations? I probably should have looked at the sku number on the box to see if it was a different number. Will have to check.

It’s the Optic Ready, not Orange….. too old school to figure out how to post pics here. If anyone wants a pic reply to rocket7191@live.com and I’ll email one.

Yep, that’s the way my slide is serrated. Even the CZ USA website still shows the optic ready slide with no serrations….

Mine didn't come with rear serrations, bought on Thanksgiving weekend last year.

Not that I care, manipulating the slide from the front is easier and faster.

I adapted to using the front serrations. As a right handed shooter I now rack the slide from the front serrations with my left hand and simultaneously lock it back using the middle finger on my left hand. I do this with the gun rotated about 45 degrees to the left and then rotate it back to 45 degrees to the right to insert the magazine. Worked great for me after some practice.

If you can figure out how to email one, there's no reason you can't figure out how to post one.

Mine doesn't have them either. But, after installing my optic, don't need them, grabbing the optic works well, fingers are not on the glass and optic still tight as a drum.

I was considering getting a S2OR but didn't want to go optics right away, so the lack of rear serrations isn't desireable. Went to a LGS to check one S2OR out - much to my surprise, it had rear serrations. I had no idea  :o  Considering the price difference between a regular brand new S2 and S2OR is ~100€, really makes choosing a bit easier!

As a reference, milling the slide of a regular S2 isn't really an option on this side of the puddle as serialized parts can't be freely modified this way.
