It seems that having a sear that is directly pinned to the frame (as opposed to a sear pin that does not go through the frame but rather is entirely internal to the pistol), is an advantage with regard to the quality of the trigger pull.

I only recently realized that CZ made some guns this way, and I was wondering why it isn't touted as one of the benefits of owning one model vs another (like a P-07 vs a P-01 Omega).

However, when I search the forums, the results are generally folks describing issues with the sear pin walking out of the pistol.

Is it not considered an advantage? Is it a net negative?

I do not own a CZ with a pinned sear, but dry firing a P-01 in the store seems to have a better trigger than a P-07.

That's probably why the TS has small springs under the rear of the sear cage and some of the members here have made pins to "lock" their sear cage tighter into the frame.

Many here have said the P07/P09 triggers are variable as can be.

My best is the old P07 DUTY.  Came out of the box around 3.4 lbs. and a really nice clean trigger pull.  The P09 9MM (next to be purchased) was pretty good but not quite as good as the P07.  The P09 .40 was not as clean/crisp as the first two.  The P07 9MM (last plastic framed CZ I bought) was the worst of the three and even an aftermarket hammer (don't remember if it was CGW or CZ Custom) didn't help it move up in the trigger pull ranking.  Better?  Yes.  Better than the factory triggers on the first three?  Nope.

I've had other CZs (metal framed) that had worse triggers than even the P07 9MM.  Both the CZ75Compact with the P01 style frames stand out in my mind (and always will) as two really bad triggers.

Parts are variable.  Which parts are put together to make a pistol are variable.  The trigger pulls with various parts in various pistols are variable.

Oh, best (lightest/crispest) trigger on a CZ pistol I've got is the Tactical Sport .40.  Scary.  One of those dry fire it when you get to the range or you will put a hole in the target before you're really ready to put one in it.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

I bought a set of those ejector cage springs to see whether I could fit them to another gun, but I haven't tried it yet.

I posted the topic because I never noticed the sear pin on the PCR and P-01 Omega until this week. My immediate reaction was that the P-01 Omega must be comparable or better than a P-01 on average.

However, you're right about variablity. That's why buying from a brick/mortar is ideal if they'll let you dry fire.

Still seems like a pinned sear must be an improvement if the A01 is made that way.

I'm of the opinion that the pinned sear cage is a big improvement over the norm.  CZ pinned decocker sears to compensate for the loss of one of the hammer hooks and CZ custom has a pinned safety equipped A01 as well.  Most of my safety equipped 75s have cage play.  None of my decocker equipped 75s have any play at all.

Thank you. I ASSUME that to be the case for the same reason. I didn't know that's why they did it for decocker guns.
