I wish CZ would create a new full sized .32 acp pistol with available replacement parts.

I think the last one was the 83. I doubt this will happen since 30 sc is a thing now. I love my 83 in 32 acp.

Yeah, .30 Super Carry is getting to be a pretty serious cartridge, with several major ammo mfg. making HPs and fmj rounds in that caliber. Hopefully other major gun mfg. besides S&W will follow suit and start making more pistols in that caliber, though .30 SC makes more sense in a sub compact or micro CCW pistol rather than a full size duty pistol.

I doubt there’s much of a market for a duty-sized .32 ACP pistol these days, especially considering how anemic and obsolescent that caliber is for self-defense. A .22 LR CZ Kadet kit would be pretty close.

The .32 ACP was very effective in WW1 and II, for sure there are more powerful calibers for self defense, but I'm sure the .32 ACP would do the trick at close range, not to mention the more preferable loaded magazine weight and felt recoil. I would buy a new version of the CZ 83 in an instant, probably two of them.

I don’t think anyone, even during WWI, would have considered the .32 ACP to be a “man stopper.” They may have been perfectly lethal considering the hours, days or never it took to get to a field hospital in those days and then die of “blood poisoning” before the Age of Antibiotics. But, unless you nicked him in spine with a neck shot at close quarters, it probably wouldn’t stop a Hun from cleaving your head open with an entrenching tool before he wandered off to die hours later.

The French were the only major power that went all-in on on the .32 ACP as a front-line combat weapon, simply because they didn’t have anything else. They imported hundreds of thousands of Ruby pistols from Spain because they were available in mass numbers, cheap, easy to import, functioned reasonably well and were better than throwing rocks at “Le Boche” in the trenches.

Put me down for a couple as well.  Anyone who has been in an ER while trying to put back together a person shot by a 32 ACP with proper defensive ammo would not arguing adequacy.  Problem with most 32 ACPs is the barrels are too short to get velocity needed for reliable expansion, or they are of a design not reliable with HP ammo.  CZ 83 has both these issues nicely taken care of (Beretta 81 does as well). 9mm has the same problem, with lots of micro 9s shot with even very expensive defensive ammo will not open the HP and they might as well be shooting FMJ with the accompanying over penetration problems.

32 is also a great caliber for those who are more recoil sensitive, and a compact to full size gun makes them just a pleasure to shoot and shoot accurately.  Also have found that the 32 ACP is more reliable than the 380s I have owned.  Even had a SIG 230 380 that would either fail to eject or stove pipe on me about once every 50 rounds.  The 83 I owned at the  same time I had a thousand rounds through and I only remember one jam and that was on the 3rd mag with some questionable ammo I was using for break in.  Never jammed again and I very much regret selling it.

Hope CZ is paying attention.  Best wishes to all.

Put me down for a couple as well !  I loved my CZ 83's, but sold them due to the availability of parts.
They never jammed or had a FTF, no matter what ammo I used. Also hope CZ is listening. Being that there are no full sized .32 ACP's being made, they could make a killing, especially if they were to resurrect the CZ 83, like maybe with a Omega Trigger! Not that the previous trigger was in need of such. It was great, regarding re-set and creep, as well as trigger pull weight in DA and SA. Thx for the input Fuzzy!

Therein lies the problem: .32 ACP sends assailants to the ER…rather than direct to the morgue. In which case, either you won’t be able stop them before they fill you full of lead, or they’ll recover and sue the bleep out of you or be a witness against you at your prosecution — and/or come back and take revenge on you or your loved ones.

In .32 ACP, the only weapon I could see owning would be “The Klobb” — the Vz 61 machine pistol, which, admittedly, would be not much more than an expensive range toy. If it were cheap enough, I might even be persuaded to get one in semi-auto, but strictly as a novelty. I shot one of these, along with an HK MP7, full-auto at Battlefield Vegas a couple of years ago. They were fun to shoot — virtually no recoil from either gun while zipping through ammunition. “Cute!” Lol

Sending assailants to the ER…rather than direct to the morgue, is fine with me. I really don't want to kill anyone, just want to protect myself comfortably.

The CZ 75D PCR in a .32 ACP would be ideal !

I won't say anything is impossible but the odds of any major manufacturer introducing a new .32Auto is next to zero. That caliber has become less popular year after year for many years for all sorts of reasons. The only two I'm aware of that have nearly any .32Auto offerings are Beretta and Keltec, and those are neither new designs or full sized. Sure there are others (Seecamp for instance, but they are a tiny company making small quantities). And even those are produced in very small quantities compared to other calibers they make.

I can't think of any reason to choose a full sized pistol in .32Auto over a number of other calibers.

PS - I say this as somebody that owns a number of .32s from Walther and CZ. Lol, the irony. But honestly they're just cool and serve no real purpose for me beyond that.

Yeah, .32 ACP is obsolete and pretty anemic in the stopping power department. Even .380 ACP, which is superior to .32 ACP, is at a distinct disadvantage to 9mm Parabellum as far as stopping power, with no capacity advantage:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1tcvMlCkMJM

On the other hand, .30 Super Carry shows a lot of promise with potential stopping power close to or equal to that of 9mm. However, .30 Super Carry would seem to excel as a micro / “pocket” pistol rather than a duty size pistol, where its capacity advantage would be negligible in light of so many available extended 9mm magazines. I would be interested in trying a sub-compact or micro .30 Super for concealed carry where that caliber would be an advantage.

people who say .32 is anemic are either stuck in 1973 or dont know about advances in bullet tech.
