Getting closer! Got it sprayed out and mostly put back together. Evidently I used a little more hardener than I should have, since it's shinier than normal and not quite as smooth as usual. I was low on black and couldn't get an exact measurement, so a little guesswork was involved. And as I expected, the Opelika etching is basically a ghost image now. I'm OK with all that though - it's just a shooter, after all. Now to get the grips finished!

I'm calling it done. For now at least. Springs, combined with a full fluff 'n buff, took the SA pull from a gritty 6lb.s to a clean 3lb.s 12oz. I'm still waiting on the Patriot sear spring to get here (thanks USPS!) and when it does, I'll do a little more work on the sear to reduce some of the creep. Not bad for an all-in cost of $320. I may make it to the range tomorrow, or it might be this weekend. I'll report back on how it performs.

Thanks for the compliments!
Yeah, I just had to get one of the +2 mags for it. Got two 17 rounders too. That should do for now.
I was debating whether to go matte or gloss on the grips, so I settled and only buffed them to a semi-gloss. They will darken and get more red over time.

Very nice, indeed!!!! 8)

I wish there were more clones floating around up in my area to be had.  This would have been a great project, and I guarantee that it wouldn't have turned out as nicely as yours with my hands on it!

I made a quick range trip at lunch today, more to function test than anything else. I've been a little wary because, when I put the same Galloway spring kit in my K12 Sport, I had to go back to the stock hammer spring due to light strikes. No such issues with this one! It took a few rounds to get it dialed in, but my oh my, what a sweet shooter! Light recoil - even with my hot 115 grn. JHP. Gets back on target fast, and the brass landed in a neat pile 4' away. It ate and coughed up all four types of ammo that I brought. Here's the test target at 10 yd.s.

Now the search starts for a stainless version that I can clearly see the Opelika on....

Yery nice P8L you have there sir.
I took my Stainless P8L to the range for a Bersaglieri (Mountianbike & guns) 2 gun run the other day and posted the results on Rumble:

I haven't shot that gun in a while but it was nice and I will be posting more runs with varying guns in the future.
