What are the drawbacks? What do you experts recommend? I already have a P07. Looking for something easier to carry but good to shoot.

I went and handled a P10s.  I compared it to my P07.  Not much smaller at all.  I didn’t buy one.  Just my observation.

Similar to my thoughts regarding the size difference between an S and C ( I have both).  I shoot both well, but the c is a tad quicker for me & I find the difference in size to be  minimal.

• You'll always shoot better with the pistol that fits your hand better. There are differences in the P07 and P10c ergos.

• One big score you need to settle in your head is: are you ready to carry a pistol that's fully cocked like a striker is? Or are you a hammer half-cocked, first shot DA type of person?

• But I got to tell you that I'm an exposed hammer/ decocker type guy, but I love my P10c. That thing, 5 years on, is simply a blast to shoot. I proabably spend more time on the range with my P10 than anything else. It's pure fun.

Smaller the gun the bigger the problems.  Personally I don't carry anything smaller then the P10 C.
Let's go Brandon!

I was interested in the P10S until I held it in my hand.  It’s a bulky (as in wide) gun for it’s subcompact size.

I ended up with the Sig 365XL.

It's a personal preference/competency issue for most folks.  I carry my P10S with an RMRcc red dot optic on a daily basis, and like the way the pistol carries and shoots.  But I don't shoot it as well as any of my CZ Shadows.  Of course carrying a full size CZ Shadow on a daily basis isn't the optimum  approach, at least for me.  Life is often a series of compromises.

Yup - this.

The traditional subK was a mag ban thing.  We have better choices now.

Thanks for the thoughtful replies. The P10S comes with interchangeable backstraps, so hopefully I can get a comfortable grip. I'm personally comfortable with carrying and shooting hammer fired DA/SA and SA only pistols. But I also have and use striker-fired pistols. Whatever you use, you just need to be careful with it. The best safety and often the only one that matters, is the one between your ears.

I have smaller carry pistols like the Canik Mete MC9 and the S&W CSX. But I have always wanted to try the P10, just wanted one small enough to carry. Since I carry a P07 pretty often, I figure this will be just slightly easier to carry. I went ahead and ordered one from PSA, so the debate is over.

I will let you folks know how it goes when I get it. And then the conversation can turn to how it functions and whatever might be done to make it better.

In my opinion the P10S is a good defensive handgun.

Personally, I'm pretty brand agnostic in regards to handguns. For full-sized work pistols, I carried Sig P220/P226 for years but we recently transitioned to Glocks (G45).  In the selection process we also tested the P10 series.  The department didn't go with them, but I liked them so much, I bought a P10F and S.  I use the P10F for hard training and local competitions along side my Shadow, depending upon my mood.

For concealed carry, depending upon my activities, the weather and clothing, I carry A 75D-PCR if I can conceal it or, the P10S if I need something a bit smaller.  If I really need something small, I carry a Sig P939.

In my experience, the P10S shoots like a larger pistol.  Its a subcompact so your pinky is liable to be hanging off, but the frame is large enough to get a good purchase.  You can get really high on the back of the tang with the strong hand and between the design of the trigger guard and the large flat side, you get a good wrap with your support hand. My son has a P10C.  While the P10C is probably better for enjoyable shooting, the P10S is large enough to be fun to practice with. It settles well and comes back on target well. Compared to the P10C or PCR, it is a bit more "snappy" but it is a subcompact.  Compared to the P938, its a dream to shoot.  I nicknamed the P938 the "noisy cricket."

Basically, the P10S is between a G26 and the P10C/G19 in regards to size.  I much prefer to the G26 but like the G26, it can use the magazines from its larger cousins.  I sometimes carry the P10S with the 12 round magazine in the weapon and slip a 19-rounf P10F magazine in my pocket. Gives me 32 rounds in 2 magazines.  I'm a little jealous of you being able to find one on PSA at today's pricing.  I paid in the low $500's for mine.

Someone in an earlier post mentioned the P10 is fully cocked.  It is not.  Its a partially cocked striker very similar to a Glock as opposed to a Sig P320/365 which really is "fully-cocked" and without a trigger safety to boot.

I hope you like your new purchase.  For me, I had to work to get used to the break of the striker-fired sear as opposed to a DA/SA weapon.  Most of that was probably my 30-year-old "old-school" grip.  Once I became accustomed to a more modern grip, those issues ironed out.

Good luck.

The P-10S arrived today. I cleaned it and I am sitting here with it now. Auslander is sure right about being able to get a steady hold with the support hand. CZ put some stippling on the lower for your thumb to rest on. (I am still waiting for someone to put a half-circle ring in front of the trigger guard for your support hand pointer finger to hook onto. Wouldn't that be great to control the muzzle flip!)

The trigger is rather "Canik-like" although a much heavier break. I was sure surprised when I walked into a dark room with the P-10S and saw that the sights GLOW IN THE DARK. No tritium, just some kind of glow in the dark material in the sight dots. When I first looked at the sights in my brightly lit gun room; I thought, "These white dots are not very big." Especially the front sight dot doesn't appear any bigger than the rear two. And I noticed a slight yellowish tint which I realize now is the glow-in-the-dark substance that has a yellowish color.

I most definitely do want a pinkie grip extension or a longer magazine with a grip extension on it. Does CZ make such a thing?

HB Industries makes a +2 baseplate mag that I purchased for the P10 S I briefly had. However, it practically made the S near-identical in size as my Glock 19. So much for being "subcompact". Eventually sold it off to a friend in spite of it being a good little shooter.

Thanks for the photos and the comparison. I have a Glock 17 with a modified 3.5 lb trigger. I like it, but the CZ P-10S is a different purpose for me. I can see there's not much size difference with the Glock 19. I also recently acquired a PSA Dagger Compact 3.9" barrel. It is a thinner, more ergonomic grip version of the Glock; except I must say, the PSA Dagger Compact has a much better out of the box trigger than the Glock. Other than the improvements it is a Glock. I like to call it "the UnGlock". Anyway, better than Glock for less money. But I digress...

Back to the P-10S. Have any of you added the CGW parts? If so, what was the trigger pull weight reduction? Does CGW help smooth out the crunchy trigger pull. Mine's not too bad and I'm assuming it will smooth somewhat with break in.
But is CGW a big improvement?

I know that CGW is a great improvement for the P-07.

My EDC is a P10S. I recommend it if you have smaller-than-average hands like me. With the OEM pinky extensions it fits my hand exactly without any pinky slippage, so I feel its optimized for my grip. It has really aggressive overall stippling and my hand felt like it was wrestling a cheese grater (yes, that was a bit of an exaggeration) which led me to put in Talon grips. I can see why people claim it shoots like a bigger gun. I am sure that I can get an even better grip going with a Sig 365 or a Hellcat but I agree with those that say the smaller the gun, the bigger the problems. Specifically, I am concerned I will not be able to execute reliable double-taps in a stressful situation with micro 9s.
