Probably a stupid idea - P10C slide on a F10F frame?
« on: June 30, 2023, 03:18:48 PM »
Was recently issued a G45MOS equipped with an ACRO P2 sight for work.  I've mentioned previously, that while I don't like Glocks (like I don't like sauerkraut and pork-rib MRE's), they are perfectly serviceable weapons.  While I still don't "like" them, I cannot deny that I am impressed with the short slide/full-sized grip concept that Glock came up with.

With a red-dot, this thing is fast.  Shorter slide, less reciprocating mass.  If you hold it right, it stays on target.  Much prefer to both the G17 or G34 in terms of the way it shoots.  With a red-dot, sight radius is superfluous and unless you are shooting really long ranges, velocity isn't that far off. Darned thing gives my Shadow a run for the money.  Took it to a local 2-gun steel match this weekend and shot really well.  Not many people showed up, but I was able to win the match by 30 seconds....

Got me to thinking about putting a P10C slide on a P10F frame.  Sure, I can send the P10F Slide off for lightening, but then I have to start tinkering around with spring rates.  The dust cover would be too long unless you bob'd it but PSA has OR P10C's on sale for less than $400.  Can't buy a slide for that!  With the 20+1 capacity, the P10F frame beats the G45's 17+1 capacity.

Curious if anyone has tried it?  Barrel lock/feed ramps should be the same for both.

It fits but it'll have an under bite. I've never shot it that way so I can't say anything about that. The p10sc is a p10c frame with a p10f slide.. Which imo is a good combo for appendix carry.

Would be an interesting concept for sure, as I've been a fan of this design style for years and have several of the pistols listed below.

Quick side note however, Glock did not come up with the hybrid design of full size grip with compact slide and barrel. The Steyr M9-A1 and C9-A1, FN FNX 9 and FNS 9, and HS Produkt 2000 (aka XD9) amongst others were years ahead of Glock before they finally ventured into the territory with the 19X and later, the 45.

Thanks to both.

I’m going to try it as soon as I can find a donor P10C.

For now I have a Shadow to reassemble….

Perfect timing... Im at the range now with my p10c and p10f... I got a few other things I'm working on.. So if I don't pass out from this heat before then,I'll try swapping the slides.

You can add a threaded barrel and compensator to the C slide on the F frame to take up the extra length of the dust cover.

With the “c” slide on the “f” frame, the frame underhang pretty much serves as a default standoff device.

Great!  Another gun idea. My wife will be thrilled.

Thinking a P10C OR SR Slide with a Herrington Arms comp on a P10 F frame.

This was my set up for awhile...although I ran a PMM comp on the C slide so it was still longer... but it was super flat shooting

probably 1500-2000 rnds like this over my time of ownership
