Thoughts on Concealed Carry CZ Pistol

The PCR, P01 and CZ75 Compact are about the same size as the P07 but metal framed and may be a little heavier.

You would think the P-07 w/ its polymer frame would have a significant weight savings over the P-01 & PCR, but it does not.

PCR - 27.5 oz
P-07 - 27.7 oz
P-01 - 28.1 oz

As a reference, 0.2 oz is about the weight of a US nickel.

For me I prefer the polymer option to the aluminum alloy frames because the weight is similar but I feel like the grip texture can be stippled to better suit me than any after market grip can. I like to ride high on the frame with my grip and my P01 slips out much easier than my P09 or P10 models.

Generally speaking, polymer is lighter than steel but not aluminum.  Aluminum is inherently stronger at thinner thickness, while polymer requires a sufficient width for both the plastic and fiber (and/or metal) reinforcement, whether you're talking mags or firearm frames...  And polymer firearm frames also require steel inserts in some for as a bearing surface for the slide, so again, even further weight detriments.

Where polymer saves weight is when not all of an aluminum item is in fact bearing or structural, and can be molded in a manner that accounts for such, basically meaning same dimensions 1:1 polymer to aluminum, polymer will weigh less but also be less strong -- which doesn't matter if that add'l strength of alloy isn't actually needed...  One of the reasons for instance, you can see weight savings with polymer AR lowers.

Empty mag or nearly so, polymer framed guns are top-heavy/off-balance vs. metal framed guns, including alloy.  While it may matter less during dry fire, it can create training issues/bad habits w/ dry fire, laser fire, etc., scenarios...  I suppose you could use a weighted mag, etc., for safe practice other than having live ammo in the mag, but most don't.

my daily is a P10s usually in a Black Arch holsters IWB. sometimes i go up to a P07 in colder weather. the P09 is quite large and probably meant more as a OWB duty weapon. i have a P01 and CZ75 but they are both a little heavy and large for me to conceal comfortably.

I like my PCR. Carries well, points naturally, shoots well. Lighter than a P-07, which is also wider and taller.

The P-01 and the P-07 are excellent guns.

If you want a smaller polymer pistol look at the Masada Slim 9mm. Excellent pistol, smooth trigger, well-made, grip is bigger for large hands, optics ready, and takes all CZ 75 mags.  It's the pistol CZ should have made but didn't.

I like my CZs and own 7, but the Masada Slim is my EDC now.

Thanks for the comments in this thread.  I have "briefcase" carried the last 5 years and every time I go to the range with my Sig P938 I hate shooting it, it jams and I can't hit crap.  Bought it because it was small. Then I shoot my P06 and 97 and love it but my eyes need a dot now.  Won't cut the slides on 06 or 97 since they are discontinued so I think I'll go the P07 route and cut optics into slide.  Sure wish CZ would cut optics in something other than p10s. (for less than $1k)

Not a CZ.  An M&P Shield, or Shield Plus is an awesome shooting pistol.

You can get them in OR (optics ready) models, 3.1 or 4" barrels/slides, night sights or no night sights, ported barrels/slides or not, thumb safety (left side only) or no thumb safety.

For me they're starting to be like a small AR15 - buy parts, switch/swap between frames to change calibers, barrel/slide lengths, optics/sights, etc.

My 1.0 9MM (9MM, 8 shots) was a 3.1" barrel with night sights.  It now has the 3.1" OR 9MM slide/barrel that came on my Shield Plus.  My Shield Plus OR 9MM now has a 4" slide/barrel OR 9MM slide I bought as a stripped slide and built up with parts from several on line vendors.

I've bought a 1.0 3.1" .40 S&W barrel/slide/recoils spring assembly (slide/barrel were used) and magazines that works on my 1.0 Shield 9MM frame.  I bought a .357 SIG conversion barrel for the .40 S&W slide that also works on the older Shield frame.  I'm experimenting (and have shot it several times at the range) with running the .40 S&W slide/barrel on the Shield Plus frame (required modifications to the Shield Plus 9MM mags.)

It's fun/neat if you're the type that like to work on/with your guns to make them into something you think you'd like to have that the factory doesn't offer.

Sorry, not trying to offend the serious/die hard CZ fans.  I still carry my P07 .40 any time I have to get in a vehicle and go somewhere.  I just don't have the options to buy/build what I want with CZ's anymore.  The P07 fits what I want for EDC.  I do know that like any other gun brand/model, not all P07's are identical in accuracy.  My Shield is for those times when I feel the need for something quite a bit smaller than the P07.

My first carry was a CZ 75B, too heavy for my taste. I bought a P-07 to replace it, but didn't like making the transition from double to single action trigger. I had a G19.5 but found the grip a tad too short for my XL hands so I now carry either a P-10C, G45 or G48 AIWB depending on occasion. A shootout between my G48 and a P-10S may have me reconsidering my choice of a subcompact. YMMV

crc4 right before your post answered your request. Get the Masada Slim. I got one a couple months ago and concur; it's the micro 9 CZ should have made by now. They're affordable too, right around or under $400.
