Any experiences with MOS-Tek caliber conversions?
« on: July 05, 2023, 07:59:19 AM »
Since MOS-Tek has been mentioned a couple of times, any user experiences on this forum of alternate calibers?

300blk, 6.5G, 6ARC? Or any other calibers for that matter.

Mine arrived and got 200 rounds of Hornandy 55gr down range no issues. I’d say about 2moa maybe more. I was also zeroing it with a new Meopta 5x40 fixed.  Likely it could pull tighter groups without me involved I hope to try some M855 and Steel tomorrow. :o

It Functioned fine on low and medium gas setting, but mainly used medium. The barrel is not as thin as the OEM 14, more in line with the circumference of the gas block size. Not bad or overly heavy.
I went with nitride and it looks great and the pin weld looks like it was done with attention to detail.

This took longer than we anticipated but Mostek does take time to test fire for gassing. He is also close by to HBI which is great for their consulting if needed and if you need parts to include to your changes.

I’m jealous of the 300blk Brens he finished in the same batch. Yes I owe a pic or 2 but thought I’d get this out. The 300 and the 14” shown

Hopefully the 300 owners will chime in also.
Seems like a good plan B for 762 owners who had issues.

I’d love to see some pistons and gas blocks become available so we could just add to cart. Or Mostek completed barrels to simply add to cart since CZ offers vaporware.

Thanks for that info!

Would like to see what they can do with  6.5 Grendel and / or a 16” 7.62x39 barrel on the Bren 2. As usual, CZ drops the ball.

He is up for it. He suggested he’d like to see 6.5 and also 350 legend would be neat.

This is your fault MeatAxe lol. Thanks for posting about  Mostek.

That’s awesome.

On a side note, how do you like the Meopta?

I have a Steiner T536 5x fixed power prism sight that I’m rather fond of.

Nice on the Steiner 5x I'd bet a nice mix on the Bren. Very similar concept to the Czech 5x with the rail on top.

I like the 5x Meopta a lot. I also have their 1-4, 1-6, and big fan of their M-RAD red dots. So fair to say I think the Czech Meopta's are great value. I saw it on their site on sale and got the new optic for when it arrived.

I am trying the 5x with Meopta T2 clone on top. Glass is very clear and I like its reticle. Unsure how much of a Paralax shows yet but its eye box is very forgiving. The dot on top is about 2.6" hight over bore. A chin weld is not an issue with the softer recoil in this case.
