Interesting problem today at the range today
« on: July 20, 2023, 10:58:42 PM »
Shooting our match at stage 1, my P10c was locking back at almost every round.  This was not normal as I’ve shot this particular P10 successfully at multiple matches.  Was able to get to the safe area and field strip it, where I noticed the slide stop no longer had any tension and upon closer examination saw the spring tine had fallen under the slide stop.

I was able to return the spring tine to its position behind the ledge that holds it.  Was able to complete the match with the P10 and had a fun time, but that stage tanked me score wise.

Curious if others had this problem?

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with what you experienced, but Cajun Gun Works sells a 10195 T-Block Plunger Spring for CZ P-10 (see link below). According to their website their "T-block spring is slightly longer than the factory spring.  This ensures the take down lever stays firm in the frame under all conditions for the life of the firearm." They also recommend replacing the OEM plastic T-Block with their 10150, all steel T-Block.

I had that problem with a Walther PPKs. The spring that held the slide hold open latch down was missing and the recoil would lift it up when fired. Luck had it that there was a recall for the hammer drop safety and it was repaired with the recall.
I'm not sure the spring is located on your CZ but that would be the first place I would look. Missing or broken.

TO--make sure the spring is seated properly in the front locking block left side.  You can also bend the spring a little to the left to make sure it doesn't jump out from under the slide lock leg.  If the spring is seated properly and naturally seeks a position toward the slide lock rather than towards the magazine, it will not be any trouble in the future.  I think.

I had the problem with one of my P-10's, can't remember which one, Probably the early C.  It hasn't happened again.

Just to follow up on this since I am looking at the P10 series. Seems the slide lock spring coming loose and locking up the slide was a known issue a few years ago. What was the fix for your gun?

I checked on my hasty repair I did at the range with what Joe recommended & I got it right the first time ( another first for me as I usually need at least 2 tries to repair anything   ;D ).  I and others have put several hundred rds thru it since.

The P10 series and the Sig P320 series are my two preferred polymer striker guns.
