area 419 15 moa problem
« on: August 10, 2023, 03:14:12 PM »
I need some advice from the experts on this forum, I have a CZ 457 MTR with a 419 rail with a Arken scope, after about 100 or so rounds I noticed the scope and rail moved forward, I removed the scope and used blue locktite on the rail screws and let it sit over night, but it happened again, should I get rid of the rail,if so what do I replace it with. My shooting range is 100yds,do I need the rail? Any advice is welcomed

A couple Qs - Did you clean the screw holes b4 attaching?  They may have some oil inside. And is the dovetail clean also?  Did you correctly torque the screws - s/b 22 in-lbs.  If YES to these, maybe try some loctite on the dovetail ?
I have the 30MOA rail on my 457 V-MTR with a 2# Athlon Argos and it's not moving.

There is a LocTite primer you can buy, but generally removing all the oil with alcohol, lacquer thinner or aerosol brake parts cleaner will do the trick. Oil needs to be removed from both the screw and the threaded hole.

I e-mailed Area 419 and they asked if the rail slide on easy and I remember that it did so they sent me a new one and I cleaned the holes before installing the rail, this rail went on tighter than the first one, shot the rifle yesterday and no movement of the rail, thanks for your input
