P-01 Slide Stop
« on: September 08, 2023, 08:44:29 PM »
I was cleaning my P-01 and SP-01 and when reassembling I inadvertently installed the SP-01 slide stop into my P-01. I went to the range with the P-01 and experienced nothing but FTFs. My fault for cleaning 2 firearms at the same time. I figured out what I’d done after inspecting my sons P-01. I swapped out slide stops and everything is good to go now. My question is why would a SP-01 slide stop installed in a P-01 cause this?

They are different lengths and the SP-01 stop in the P-01 may have protruded too far into the frame and caused interference with the top round in the mag.

Could have been worse. I showed up at a IPSC competition with P01 mags for my SP01. They locked into place just fine, but were 1/4" too short to allow the slide to strip a round.

People USED to have problems when CZ put a 9mm slide stop in a 40 gun - the beefier 9mm part (the 40 had to be 'shaved' a bit for the larger 40 Smith round) interfered with the feeding of the 40 SW rounds.
