CZ Warranty - Safety Conversion on P-01 Omega
« on: October 06, 2023, 06:49:29 AM »
I purchased a P-01 Omega about 6 months ago.  I wanted to switch from the decocker to the safety so I can Condition One carry.  The conversion parts would not fit.  I called CZ right away and they said they would send me new parts.  Two months later nothing still showed up.  I called and they said the parts were on backorder and should ship in August.  Nothing showed up in August & I called again (early October).  Now they are telling me that the conversion parts have to be fitted to the gun & I need to send the gun in.  Does this make sense?  I put in the safety conversion parts from my son's P-01 Omega and they worked fine.

The experience w/ CZ Warranty has been so bad that I am concerned about sending the gun in and not getting it back for 6 months and the work not being done right.  At the same time, I need to have my P-01 set up w/ the safety & not decocker.

So it's up to you whether you send it in or not. Anyone who has posted here about sending a gun in for warranty work recently has been happy with the outcome. I do know they are having some trouble getting parts restocked from across the pond in this post plandemic world so there's that.
Out of curiosity what is the issue with your safety parts that they won't fit? You might give Cajun Gun Works a call and run the issue by them. They could maybe walk you through the steps to fit the parts.

I would be happy to have the parts fitted. I'd prefer it even.

the parts just do not fit & safety will not work.  I installed the safety kit on my son's P-01 Omega and everything worked perfect.

Sorry you're having issues. Call and get an RMA, then send the whole gun back with all the parts to CZ-USA with a letter explaining everything.

If, as you say, the parts don't physically fit, then there's nothing anyone here can do for you. This forum has ties to CZ-USA, but is not part of the company. Complaints here may make you feel better, but nothing is really getting accomplished.

Not complaining, just want to figure out the best way to get the issue resolved.

Then choose one of the options before you and go with that. Simple.

My first P01 Omega was an Urban Gray model.  Safeties swapped in just fine.  Zero issues.

A few years later I bought a black P01 Omega.  Couldn't get the safeties to fit/work right.

I grabbed the UG model, removed the safeties and installed them in the black P01 and they fit and worked fine.  Grabbed the ones that came with the black P01 and installed them in the UG pistol and they fit/worked fine.

No idea what was different.  Couldn't see it, or couldn't understand what I was seeing that was causing it, but swapping worked.

My second P01 UG model was like the first one, zero issues installing the safeties.  Don't know if it's a slight difference in the frame/internal parts, or the two safeties.

If your son's pistol isn't around to try the swap, call CZ USA.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?
