550 action length

I am considering building a heavy barrel rifle using a 550 action. The caliber will be 338 Win Mag. Is the 30/06 length 550 action suitable for this round or will the 375 length be necessary?

Maximum lenght for the .338 Win. Mag. is 3.340 inches, exactly the same as the maximum length for the .30-06. This size allows the .338 to be handled in standard-length actions. The long magnum actions aren't necessary.
