good morning.. with the discontinued 602's i am getting my ignorant stamp of approval off my forehead. with talking to the cz guys i didnt meet the right one. the ODIN of actions..:)  I have a 602.. I was looking at the write up in cz usa.. the advertisements.. claiming the 550 mag was the 602>? in all features?.. like integral part of barrel the rear sights base, control round feed? informational help appreciated:)

the longer question is: can I get manufacturer made barrels.. ? 3 to 4 inches longer than stock 25.5" or send my barrel stock to them to be chucked into there equipment for milling. I know the time it takes and personally I dont have the time . when by single piece set ups verses readied equipment and personnel.
My testimony is, the 602 is the finest performing weapon for the money , with features of the best performances. while comparing to favorites of pr64 win , H&H , griffen n howe, and other bolt guns

I'm not sure I understand your question, the ZKK-602 has a very similar action to the CZ-550 Magum. Stocks are interchangeable, trigger-works ARE NOT. The CZ 550's steel is of same quality(from my stand-point) as the ZKK's.

CZ-USA or all CZ distr.(worldwide) to my knowledge do not sell or rebarrel OEM barrels. CZ-UB(Czech Republic) sell barrels in bulk quantities but I'm not aware of any company distr. these.

The solution is to be in contact with a good rifle barrel installer. A quick search thru the internet will point to companies such as: E.R. Shaw(U.S.),etc.. . An annual gun book such as Gun Digest will point you to individual companies dealing in the barrel business near you. Which part of the world are you from, maybe we can help you out!

I was unfamilair with the transition and its changes of the 602, thinking the 550 was a complete, different than 602.  the add claims it is the same 602 in different stock.? you mentioned trigger >?what about control round feed>?
barrel stock comes in many lengths! the fearture i like very much is the boss which the rear site marries to.

back to lenght: the barrel stock is dressed (made as )over size then cut back to miss the tooling stress and  as they reach 25.5 inches +\- .002  it does not take any different tooling requirements to make the same barrel 3 inches longer.. being maybe the core is 4 to 5 inches longer for cut back.
I have enough equipment to make my own barrel with mill and lathe.. I dont have the time to make an individual piece at this time.
I was in hope I could request a barrel of different length for my purpose in mind.
hammer forged barrels shoot accurate, but not consistant when heated from multiple shots. A cut rifled barrel of stock which is properly stress relieved will hold zero more consistant after 5 or 6 shots .than most other barrel making techniques. hammer forged the key is stress relieving.. I know many barrel making outlets.. none have the time to bother with the rear sight boss without high over cost to do..

Just to put you in the swing of things: Brno ZKK's were in reality mfgr. by CZ-UB, at the time communism govm. were running both companies, at the end of communism era in Europe: each company gained independant status. Since Brno did'nt have the tooling & knowledge to mfgr. the ZKK's at competitive price CZ-UB ended up with these. Later on they decided to do a single-set trigger(the ZKK's also had these as accessories but quality of the trigger was far inferior, as to be able to do a trasition from single-set to conventional was quite an ordeal) this new trigger does'nt have a shoe but rather if you PUSH the trigger forward you've just set the trigger, if you don't set the trigger the simple act of PULLING the trigger will let the round go off. This new trigger does'nt rattle if you jiggle your rifle around, and is fully adjustable.

The usual Mauser type extractor is still very present on the CZ 550 series thus assuring controlled round feed reliability.

The new CZ 550 Magnum still has the Express type rear sight which are held in place by machining the barrel to form a solid lump. This is where things go screwy: you don't have any choice but taking an off the shelf rifle(CZ does'nt offer an in-house custom shop service) which leaves you with a rifle fitting in their typical sized box. A bit like ordering a Ford Mustang car thru a Ford dealer wanting a custom Pratt & Witney fan induced turbine engine installed instead of their top 5 liter H.P.

Stock configuration has'nt changed much: Swine-back or conventional Classic style stock. Their Monte-Carlo styled stock is'nt offered any more.

Ex.:You're better off having a custom job thru Black Star and have a cryogenic job to the barrel. The front screw lug which holds the barrel down into the front forearm is just asking to have a non precise rifle. A simple addition of stock re-inforcing scews near trigger tang & forward part(like a conventional Magum Mauser) insures the barrel is completely free-floating. Have a look at Cape outfitters they have excellent Express rear sights which can be tapped into place. Just buying a stocked action from a competitor would cost you the price of your custom job.

Bottom line: you either have to accept an of the shelf rifle or go full custom($$$$)or do the job yourself(high man/hrs).

while construeing intent of the quetions thank you for the answers.. I am glad the 550 did not go to a push feed
If I was in brno's factory. I bet I could ask for a barrel 3 inches longer and someone could chuck up a piece of stock and knock it out.:)
