CZ 10mm
« on: December 23, 2023, 11:22:21 AM »
Seems like all the big boys now have a 10mm pistol, even Taurus has come with one.
What are your thoughts on when or if CZ will come out with their own 10mm.
I'm hoping for a  for a 10mm in SA/DA hammer format with at least a  5" threaded barrel.
I think it would immediately become the top selling 10mm on the market!

Only they know what the future holds but I would not hold my breath. CZ abandoned the .40 and the .45acp so them producing a new gun in anything that isn't 9mm seems a stretch at this point. Dan Wesson does produce a 1911 in 10mm.
Hey you never know though since CZ is now affiliated with the 3 legged pony that is Colt anything could happen.

What?? COLT-cz make a 10mm CZ-97?? Now that 10mm is again a popular cartridge and one the hottest sectors of the pistol market?

They can’t do that! That would make entirely too much sense!!

I'm hoping if they do  make a 10mm  it's not a cz-97 and more like a Shadow  with 15 rounds of 10mm.

Yeah it would make too much sense. Virtually everyone who is anyone has produced models for the concealed carry market but nooo not Colt no way. They re-issue updated versions of their revolver line which they botched. The closest thing to a carry piece is the remake of the Cobra and in this day of micro compact high cap pistols who wants a 6 shot wheel gun that falls between a S&W K and J frame? Only the Colt purists.

IF they were to make one the 97 could easily hold 15 rnds of 10mm given the smaller diameter rounds. You have to remember the 97 was produced originally during the 1994 awb days so 10 rnds was max at that time.

There IS one CZ-97 in 10mm. It is at CZ-USA headquarters last time I checked. There wasn't enough demand at the time for a 10mm pistol, and the CZ-97 was the only one in the lineup big enough. NOW, well, the P-10F was made in 45 ACP briefly, so it IS possible...but not likely. I wouldn't mind seeing the P-07 in 10mm, and of course the standard CZ-75B would make a fun 10mm, but I don't know if the demand is sufficient to make them.

Here is the only 10mm CZ  pistol in existence today.

Just get Barsto to make a 10mm barrel for the 97.  I'm sure they can configure the feedramp to function with the stock mags.

Cheers,
Toby

(in my opinion)
It doesn't make sense for firearm manufacturing companies to develop/tool-up/produce/market new pistols in capacities over 10 rounds. One fifth of this country's states have banned the purchase of higher capacities than that. Don't think it is currently in their monetary best interest to do so --------- at least until some court cases come to fruition.

I have been eyeing a 10mm hard chrome Tanfo model for awhile, unfortunately my CONUS residence is in in the state of Washington  :(

Well I'm not sure how you arrived at this conclusion. All they need do is have lower capacity magazines available for the un-American states just as has been the case for decades.

I would also state that firearms are a global market, and many overseas countries have far different legal requirements.

10mm versions of the P-07 and P-09 would be the bees knees!  DA/SA, no trigger dingus, excellent palm-feel, and Carry and Full size versions would give SA and Gluck a run for the money!

And that's why I jumped on a 10mm Witness a few months back. I absolutely love that caliber, in that platform. I would jump on a CZ version in a heartbeat.
No matter where you're going, there you are.
