The "Sporter" was nib in spring 2019. All used ammo boxes are stapled in clusters, counted, stored in a large baggy.
---The first check--- with the No-Go was after approx. 1,500 rds. The reason I've documented ammo use might be apparent.
Cleaned all pertinent areas, and the Clymer gauge also has been kept clean. I've used it in my imported AKMs before the last were sold to provide cash for the PTR-91, then the first FAL.
A seasoned VZ-58 owner on a different, "most colorful
" gun forum anticipates that the headspace in these could be acceptable up through about 10,000 rds. -- but I won't assume anything.
This is my only rifle in this chambering and already have much more ammo to enjoy--which keeps me from using too much (pricier) .308 ammo in my FALs or PTR.
