3 Plus loose trigger pack
« on: January 22, 2024, 07:32:46 PM »
I've noticed after a couple of trips to the range that the trigger pack seems to be loose both from a side-to-side movement as well as front-to-rear.  Is anyone else experiencing this conditon?  This exists with / without the magazine inserted and the bolt locked or in battery.

There is no bolt in my trigger pack, just the retaining pin that hold it in place.

Delta papa.  Below is a link to a parts diagram of the 3+.    Are you saying that #47 is loose.   Or are you saying #42 ?     If you are saying #47 is loose check screw #48 to see if it is tight.    Now if the housing #42 wobbles side to side all the scorpions do that but there is a part that will snap in and make it much tighter. (Well it fits the scorpions but not sore about the 3+).       Let us know the answer to the above questions. If #42 is your answer I’ll get you the part info. I think it’s from Armanov or something like that. I use it and it pretty good.

Yeah, the Ascalon shim works very well to eliminate any slop between the upper and lower receivers.

HBI makes a replacement pin to connect the upper and lower, but I don’t think it works nearly as well, and often you have to drill through the lower receiver pin hole to get the pin to fit all the way through, and still you end up with a certain amount of slop.

Part no. 42 is loose.  It appears that this is a common problem especially since there's already a shim solution.  Thanks everyone.

Right. It’s all nomenclature:

#42, what CZ calls a “trigger unit casing / lower housing” is what we AR-centric Americans would call a lower receiver / trigger housing.

What we would refer to as a “trigger pack” is #47 “trigger case” assembled with all its component fire control group parts.

I was just using the terminology that CZ-USA uses in their Scorpion disassembly video on YouTube.  Regardless, there is a solution to the problem.

There is no bolt in my trigger pack, just the retaining pin that hold it in place.

Same thing with my micro (bought last month): no Trigger Case Retaining Screw (item #48 of their diagram). I bought one at Shooters Element for $7 but cz-usa also sent me the OEM one via mail (which is a little different). Alternatively, an m4x7 T10 screw from Home Depot can suffice. This reflects poorly on their quality control standards.

Just an fyi, The oem screw in my 1st Gen Evo was made of a very soft metal and easy to strip. Don't know if they've improved over the years or not but your probably better off with the one from a hardware store. Apparently loctite makes up for inferior metals  ;D
