Ngd! Sar k2 45c
« on: January 04, 2024, 02:37:04 PM »
Just picked up a Sar k2 45 compact (well that’s what they labeled it lol). Two flawless mags through it so far. Da is smooth, but stages pretty hard at the end. Wondering if that’ll break in or if polishing will help. Sa is serviceable, could be better. Good for a combat / duty application, but I like to tinker. Wondering if a tanfoglio hammer would fit. What dimensions I was able to take without complete disassembly seem to match between this and my tanfo. Sear seams to be the same width but may not match fpb shape.

I installed the Galloway Precision's Reduced Power Spring Kit in mine & it helped alot. I've shot it quite a bit & haven't had any problems with the kit. No light primer strikes. It was worth the $27.50 to me.

I have the Full Size version of the SAR K2-45, bought back in June 2013. Never a problem so far, but I've not bothered to mess with the internals.

Nice. I went back and forth on compact vs full size. Any idea on the round count on yours? How has it worn in?

Approximate Round Count on mine is only about 1000 rounds, as I don't shoot .45's nearly as much as I used to, back when I shot USPSA/IPSC.
The DA Trigger Pull has smoothed out some, but no change in the SA Trigger Pull, so far.

My primary use for mine was as a Home Defense Pistol. I did try carrying it in a Shoulder Holster, but it proved too heavy.

I installed the Galloway springs too but I'm getting light primer strikes so I guess I'll go back to the old hammer and firing pin springs. Leaving the other lighter springs in place. Light strikes on both my full and compact K2 45s.
