I have a P-01 and love it. Which other one should I get?

I think it was The Buddha who said, "Comparisons are odious." Or maybe to was Totie Fields. I forget.

Is "One of each" the wrong answer?

I personally love (and sadly miss) My CZ-75B Omega and Israeli Surplus CZ-85. I think the basic CZ-75 family is the best steel-frame sidearm out there.

Like.

How about the SA? I really wanted to get one as my first CZ-75B, but I thought maybe DA/SA was (an important part of) the point with the 75.

I like the Omega because it comes with the parts to switch between a "cocked and locked" SA style, or a deckocker ala SA/DA.

Makes sense.

I'm a Hi-Power guy, but when I first held a CZ-75B in my hand, I was very impressed. The ergonomics felt so right. Like goin' home. But I guess everybody here know this.

But I would add: I don't like the Omega. I'm not a "reversible jacket" kind of guy. I prefer one gun for one thing, another gun for another thing.

Makes sense! I love the Hi Power and SAs in general. My friend has a CZ-75 SA, but I never shot it. I often carry a SA Beretta 81 in 32ACP.

I've spent so much of my life as an SA guy (Colts and Hi-Powers)... and I like the shape of the trigger on the CZ-75B SA.

Beretta is an excellent gun, and, I think, nobody in this country (U.S.of A.) has any idea about .32 cal. How does yours shoot?

Very sweet and potent with Federal Silver Tip. As to SAs, I have a few 1911s, and only one HP at the moment, my WW2 Inglis, but I am now itching for a Pre-70 Series GM in 38 Super and a (Lightweight) Commander in 9mm.

You must be reading my mail. I'd like to get into some 38 Super Colts. I have to look at muzzle velocity and how much ear damage I'm willing to endure, but the 38 Super is a Colt thing that I need to know about.

If I may be so bold as to suggest: An Inglis is fine and dandy to collect, but get yourself a regular old Hi-Power from with an external extractor and have yourself a ball. Go to the range, shoot a big ol' momma like a 1911 Government Model, then pick up a Hi-Power and laugh your head off. So pointy, so sweet.

I had a nice 2004 SFS I regret selling.

Range use/fun/plinking?  Or self defense/concealed carry all the time?

Caliber?

Iron sights only or ability to take the cover off and install a red dot, or take the red dot off and go back to iron sights if you can't stand the red dot?

Metal frame (steel or aluminum).  Polymer frame.

The Omegas are pretty much gone except in the P07/P09.

Safeties or decockers.

There are so many models to choose from (but maybe half what CZ used to offer.)

You're going to get a lot of suggestions based on what people like and use.  People are different.

I've got polymer, steel and aluminum framed CZ pistols.  All mine are models with safeties, or Omega models with decockers removed and safeties installed.  I have 9MM and .40 S&W.  Mine are all "older guns" from the time when they sold .40 S&W models in the every day use/carry models.  From when the made/sold the Omega models in steel and aluminum frame models.  My most accurate are the P07/P09 guns.  The one's that fit my hand the best are the CZ75/P01 models (P01 especially).

Not all P07/P09 guns are as accurate as others - that goes for the metal framed guns, too.  Goes for all brands/models of the others, too.

I dread the idea of losing my old P07 .40 enough that I recently bought another one just like it at a gun show to put away as a spare/back up.  Haven't done that for any of my other guns.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Can you identify something you'd like to use it for? Competition, carry, duty, plinking, etc. If you don't have a particular use for it just get whatever appeals to you most and is at or under an amount you're willing to spend.
