I acquired an CZ 40P thru an estate sale.  I am trying to find out a real world value.  The gun appears to me to have never been fired, in the original over wrap paper?? box & the plastic box with all the gadgets, 2 mags.   Serial number is PN3630.  Any ideas?  Thanks   Daniel

My CZ 40P has a S/N of A025526 and was made in 2004 so there were quite a few made.

I paid $411.34 for mine in 2018 and it came with a holster and 2  mags.

rdcinhou, was your gun used or NIB NEVER FIRED ?  How did you acquire the manufacture date?     Thanks   Daniel

It was used and had "California" 10 round mags...one had a few rusty scratches.

The year of manufacture is a 2-digit stamp just before the ejection port.  In this case "04".

I had a 40P years ago. Traded it off and regreted ever since.

All CZs are fired before they leave the factory so none of them are “never been fired” so it’s a useless term. I picked up a used 40P with all the paperwork, the cardboard box sleeve etc with 10 rnds fired by the original owner and the rest of the ammo. It’s been awhile and I’d have to check my book but I think I paid about $250. Really wanted to buy it because it came with a great leather holster. Name escapes me at the moment but they were the bomb at the time. The best way to judge actual use is the condition of the derlin bushing. They get beat up quick. I don’t follow prices but 40Ps have never commanded a high dollar and are usually close in value to a P01.

I also paid about $250 for my 40P but it required some rework to make safe again.  It had been smithed, hammer hooks were cut and it was missing the L spring.  I was able to fix it and it still is what I carry when travelling.  The gun just shoots small groups effortlessly.

I don't think they are particularly collectable but time will tell.  They are an oddball mash up of Colt and CZ (obviously prior to the merger).  Maybe they will be valuable in the future? There are a ton out there so most likely not.
