SP01 Tactical front sight
« on: February 29, 2024, 08:41:26 AM »
I want to change the front sight picture from a six o'clock hold to a combat. Any one made this change and if so what front sight did you use? Dawson, CGW Trijicon?

Dawson has a formula on their website that let's you calculate what combination of front and rear gets you the desired point of impact.

Also consider Angry Bear Arms.  I have had good luck with them.

If you plan to carry the same ammo you practice with then, you'll need a slightly lower front sight.
Six O'clock Hold to Combat Hold requires dropping the point of impact from above the front sight blade to behind the front sight blade. This means a higher/taller front sight would be needed.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.

Dawson has the most options for a CZ.  You need to make sure you get a front sight that has a 0.060 deep dovetail for your SP-01 since it has the 0.550 diameter barrel.

You didn't indicate what type of sight you were looking for but Dawson has tritium, fiber optic, and blacked out.

In reality you should just get an adjustable rear and then you can change ammo and adjust the point of impact as needed.  Dawson has their perfect impact calculator if you just want to get a front sight.  I always recommend to change the rear first, especially if you ever think you will shoot competition.  In competition, you want a blacked out rear sight to draw focus to the front sight.

CZ Custom and CGW have good options for a rear sight for competition.
