Question For Anyone Who Has A Scorpion 3+ Factory Magazine
« on: March 30, 2024, 06:46:19 AM »
There's a rectangularly shaped tab (for lack of a better word) on the back of those magazines that retracts when depressing the follower.  Are you able to push that tab into the mag without touching the follower, or is it locked in place until you depress the follower.  I think I might have some defective ones and I'm just trying to troubleshoot.  FWI...the tabs on the Magpuls for 3+ retract without depressing the follower, but not so with my factory mags.

Thanks for any help on this.

My OEM Scorpion mags have no external moving parts and the tab you describe is a molded fixed part of the magazine.

Yeah, looking at both my MP Evo 3 and CZ 3+ mags, the little cylindrical tab at the top of the rear of these mags is actually a fixed appendage molded into the follower.

It’s there to push up on the bolt catch after the last round is fired to lock the bolt carrier back to the rear.
