CZ 75 Compact with rail?
« on: April 20, 2024, 10:11:33 AM »
I'm seeing a local ad for a CZ 75D Compact, and it has a rail.
Isnt that a P01?
But the slide only says '75D Compact'

Well funny, I got it figured out, but not from the CZ website.
Apparently the compact can be had with a rail.
And the frame is full length, goes to the end of the slide.

I still say its a P-01

The cz 75b and bd are the full size and no rail. The 75d and the pcr do not come with a rail. The p01 comes with a rail. Though this could explain what you are seeing in the ad. From the cz website.

As to the post above, the difference between the PCR and 75D Compact is the PCR is an alloy frame.
Though I'm not sure if any of the 'Compacts' are alloy.

Can you post a pic of this 75D Compact?

My understanding is that the P-01 is marketed as the CZ 75D Compact in certain international markets. When CZ has overruns of the 75D Compact (with a rail) they are sold in the US. Basically, they’re the same gun with different writing on the slide, although the P-01 marked as a 75D Compact may have some additional collectors’ value here in the US due to its rarity.

Post a picture of the gun you are interested in. That will get you better answers.

So there is a 75 semi compact. Full size frame compact slide. I've never seen one but have read about them. Those I think will say "semi compact" but who is to say someone made one themselves. CZ custom has CZ 75 semi compact shadow bull.

I messaged the guy cuz I'm curious, and its a steel frame. So it sounds like CZ just used a different slide on this one

Pics of the gun in question would certainly help.

To add to the confusion, there is a steel frame version of the P-01. This one looks like either an ambi manual safety or Omega version:

Not sure how to post pics here, I dont do that Imgur thing.
Now I see it doesnt have the NATO markings on it, so not a P01

It might not have the NATO numbers if it’s designated as a “75D Compact.” The pics I’ve seen make it look more or less like a PCR slide on a P-01 frame. The all-steel P-01 doesn’t appear to have the NATO stock numbers, either, from what I could see.

To add to the confusion …
this year's CZUB katalog says the 75 P-01, while still aluminum-framed, is now equipped with a safety instead of a decocker.

Browning Challenger III, .22 Long Rifle, Glossy Blue
CZ 83, 9 Browning Court, Satin Nickel
CZ 75 Compact, 9 Luger, Dual Tone — Satin Nickel/Matte Blue
CZ 82, 9 Makarov, Czechoslovak People's Army Black
CZ 83, 7.65 Browning, Glossy Blue
Beretta 3032 Tomcat, .32 Auto, Inox

Meataxe is correct. There are alloy frame P-01's with slides roll marked as a 75D Compact. I bought one in 2016.

I have asked this guy twice about the frame , and he says its steel.
Anyway, I'll be meeting him tomorrow and I'll know for sure what it is-lol.

Well, the gun is mine now. However the guy was wrong, the frame is alloy.
