P09 single action pull
« on: April 20, 2024, 10:34:24 PM »
What parts most effect the P09 single action pull? Mine has a really good double action pull but the single
action has a lot of mush and creep. If it matters, it has the decocker installed.

Safety vs decocker can make a difference, or not ! My P07 was a dog out of box and swapping it to safety made virtually no difference at all. 500 rounds and a very thorough polishing project turned into a decent running pistol, but still not the sweet shooter that my Wife's is. Her P07 felt like a competition pistol right from the start.
I tried marking and swapping some of the parts between the two pistols and wound up putting them both back together as original since any improvement to mine was of more detriment to hers. I believe the difference may actually be a characteristic of the polymer frame itself, which could be tough to offset without better resources.
One thing ! can say. I'm really grateful to some of the folks in this forum for the knowledge and encouragement needed to try and solve this. I've wound up with a good understanding of a pistol's inner workings, and an appreciation of it's complexities !

I installed the safety, and it did make some difference. Looking forward to going to the range tomorrow.

I put the CGW P-07/09 hammer in all three of my P-07/09 pistols.  Problem solved.

The safety plunger spring, the sear spring, polishing the action parts, and, and as Joe L mentioned the hammer are the main items that affect SA trigger feel.  Lesser factors are the hammer spring, the trigger return spring, the spring tension against trigger bar and the roller.
