Too heavy a handguard?

Seems like at 16 oz, it might be too heavy for the gun. Also QD spot is rotating.

Otherwise looks like a good design and it is free float.

I’m using the Midwest Industries unit, which works great on my 3+ even though MI says it’s not compatible (though I’m using a EVO 3 16” bbl.). Very light and sturdy. The 6.75” unit only weighs @ 11 oz.

I would avoid Optics Planet, though, at all cost —  they have a nasty habit of charging you for out of stock items and then holding onto your money for months on end before they mail it to you, if ever. Yes, Optics Planet sucks balls…

There is no product weight shown on the Airborne Arms website so I wouldn't give too much credence to what OP is listing.  Why don't you contact AA directly?

If this is right it’s 15 oz - probably with the proprietary barrel nut mount.  Not light.

I have a message into them also.  Of course the front nut for the plastic handguard comes off.
