CZ 97B"E" at 100 yards in the wind on Tuesday
« on: May 30, 2024, 06:25:06 AM »
More strange weather in Central Texas this week, with strong winds at 10-11 o'clock at the 100 yard rifle range on Tuesday.  I struggled getting used to the trigger again after shooting the strikers for the last two monthss, then made some adjustments on the site and on the hold point for the target in the video.  Still managed two sub 6" five shot groups out of 20 shots and didn't have any cameras blown over so a good day with the all steel hammer gun.

I just love the all steel hammer guns.  I'm all in on lighter polymer striker and even polymer hammer guns for 90% of what most people want and need, but the classic steel guns will remain my preference for long distance range shooting.

Shooting the 97B"E" was a lot of fun.  Today I got out my Desert Eagle 1911 with the Kart match barrel and checked it over and plan on shooting it early next week.  When I first fit the barrel a few years ago, I left the lock up a little too tight, so today, I finally took the time to remove a thousandth or so off the lug feet and take a little stress off the lock pin.  It is still tight, but it no longer takes a blow on the shooting bench to break the slide loose for the first round, LOL.  I can break it loose by hand now, using the red dot body as a grip assist.
