A good yet bad day
« on: October 12, 2024, 04:34:25 PM »
Today I decided to shoot my SP01T at our local USPSA match.  The gun ran fine, digesting and placing my reloads where I aimed.  I do enjoy shooting this gun.

The bad, I completely failed to engage 2 targets that were hidden, so 4 missed hits and 2 failure to engage penalties made me uncompetitive for this match.  Got to love brain farts.

Regardless, getting reacquainted with the SP01T was fun and I will shoot it more during the winter season.

If you need more, I seem to have over-stocked.   O0

Bummer.  I had a good day at my local match today.  My first shot plugged a no shoot almost dead center in the A Zone.  It was a mental blip, that I didn't visualize the target properly during my stage prep.  Ultimately, I took high overall and beat the next best by 17%.  I was shooting well.  My Accushadow 2 really is nice to shoot and accurate to boot!

Two weeks ago, I was at the AZ State Championship match in Prescott, AZ.  I was the CRO for the stage I designed.  It was a memory stage with multiple targets available from different shooting locations.  It required a solid stage plan and execution but the shooting was relatively straight forward.  Over the course of the match my stage had over 230 mikes and nearly 41 procedurals for FTSA.  This was a point of pride as that was what I was intending by the stage design.  I wanted folks to either shoot at targets multiple times or fail to shoot at other targets all together.

It happens even to the best of shooters and it can be a deliberate intent of the stage.

Cheers,
Toby

Tanners Owner--Thanks for the report.  Sorry for the BF's, a common problem at my house, my shop, shooting range.  Especially when firearms and camera gear are in simultaneous use!

It’s all part of the game.  While I want to do well, I participate to have fun- which I do.

I find it’s the people I shoot with that make it a fun day.

I shoot uspsa, IDPA, and icore

Normally I do let folks know, but this stage was rather nasty and I held my tongue.  The RO's I shot with knew.  It was a fun stage but it did impact quite a few shooters.

Cheers,
Toby

I'll take a day shooting USPSA over working everyday including Sunday!

I have fun shooting major matches as I typically don't have to work and shoot like I typically do at my local match.  I work but it is generally days after I shoot.  I was saying one of these years I'm just going to shoot all the majors I normally shoot then work.  It would be a different experience for sure.

It is fun getting to watch all the best shooters in the world shoot though!

Cheers,
Toby
