Need help on a Kadet 2 install
« on: June 29, 2024, 02:15:31 PM »
I recently tried to install a Kadet 2 kit on a 75 compact with a decocker rather than a safety. I was able to get the 22 slide to fit on the gun and the slide would function properly. Once I installed the Kadet slide release, the slide would not work to cock the gun and would only move 1/4 to 1/2 inch. I changed out the slide release from the Kadet kit release for the one that came with the original 9mm pistol and the slide worked properly, however the decocker does not work. I haven't been to the range to fire the pistol yet.  Does the Kadet slide release need to be modified to fit, and if so, how and why? The Kadet 2 owner's manual that I downloaded from the CZ website just mentioned filing the front rails down to fit the gun and suggested using the Kadet slide release. Any suggestions?

Howdy from Sacramento!

I put a Kadet on my P01 decocker.  A little filing was necessary for full operation.   File a little,  test fit, file a little,  test fit.   Slow and go is the way.

Good luck!

With the Kadet Conversion, the slide does not move . Only the Bolt ( the narrow part between the slide and the pistol frame) with the Vertical Serrations moves back and forth.

I think you have to request a free slide release from CZ to resolve your issue with that specific pistol. However, since the kit has been discontinued, you might have to buy it from CZ or other vendor, assuming you can get the part number.

Your best bet might be to " fit" a slide release like someone previously mentioned.
Hope you can find the parts in stock
