CZ 527 Light Primer Strikes
« on: July 01, 2024, 08:28:57 PM »
I know this is a well known problem and I have read some of the old threads but I’m hoping there has been something figured out in the last 5-10 years.

I have a 7.62x39 carbine that is having light primer strikes with Hornady Black rounds. It will usually shoot the first round but won’t ignite the primers after that one. It happened a month or so ago and I started researching and found the advice to touch up the striker plate with a ceramic rod and I did so. I also broke apart the bolt and gave everything a good cleaning. Went back to the range today and the same thing happened, first round fired fine and nothing after that.

What should my next steps be? The couple times I’ve gotten it to shoot the Hornady ammo it has shot them wonderfully and I’d really like to use it for a deer rifle.
