adjustable sights P01
« on: July 04, 2024, 04:29:30 PM »
After the first trip to the range, immediately determined I wasn't thrilled with the double action pull. Installed a #15 main spring and the pull is not even a thought squeezing off now. I am hitting consistently low. Sent a few more down range using a bag and still hitting low. I considered looking for a lower front sight or higher rear sight but like the idea of adjustable. Any body running an adjustable on the P01 or a taller rear fixed? Thx

How does it hit with your EDC load?

Legitimate question, hoping to tune it a little closer before I start sending $$ down range. You are right though. I was able to reach the same goal with the Glock by shaving the front sight, (cheap plastic, no loss there) but was hoping to avoid that on the CZ. My eyes are different than most, and shoot left handed right eyed. Don't care for Dots so I make due.

I use a CZ Bomar style adjustable rear sight and a Precision front sight that is like half again taller than the original.  Only complaint is that the rear sight digs into my belly when I carry appendix.  Got the rear sight from CZ Parts.

Best wishes.

I already sent CZ Parts an email asking about the adjustable rear sight. The one I want is offered as a front/rear set. I'm trying to get just the rear. I see where Dawson offers different height front fiber optics. That will probably be step 2 if the rear adjustable doesn't quite get there. It goes to show the difference in firearm to firearm and each individual. My Glock needed minor front sight filing, the Sig needed a moderate windage adjustment, and the CZ is needing the most adjustment to fit my eyes, but it feels the best. I'm expecting the CZ to replace the Sig as EDC if I get it tuned in.

For my P-01, I use TruGlo's TFX Pro.  These sights are more rounded and very available in the USA.
I use fully-adjustable sets on my 97s, Shadow 2s, etc. that I use for target shooting.  Stan/CZ Parts does an excellent job of providing quality parts, prices, and service.  I also use their green, 1.5mm fiber sights.  (The original CZ sight is 1mm so the 1.5mm is easily for me to use.)  Were I to use fully-adjustable sights on my P-01, I would get the set and keep the front sight for the future (in 1.5mm green fiber).

I went with Meprolight.  I saw someone using them at an indoor range.  Even in dim light, the sight was easy to see.  The rear is adjustable and works perfectly.

I like fiber optic so I got a set of Dawson sights.  It still shot low for me.  So I ended up using the Dawson rear and the the stock front sight.  Made it a lot better.  And then went to a heavier bullet with a little slower powder and put it right on.  I have seen others say they like a heavy bullet.  I am using a 145 gr  Acme with 231 powder.
