Waffle Stock QD Idea

Thought I would share this it's pretty self explanatory but ask if you need to know anything using MagPul QD either type 1 or 2 will work

Stock will close and lock without a sling but will not close and lock with every sling I tried but then if folded I will move the sling to the receiver anyway

Measure parts to suit drill bits as they vary, stock is hollow where I drilled so go slowly with the lager drills just through the outer layer, I driller right where there is a molding mark but looking inside you don't need to be too accurate on placement.

Just a note I started by drilling a screw sized hole from one side to the other but if I was to do this again I would just drill through the outer layer of the polymer and then enlarge it gradually to fit the QD then push in the QD cup and spacers and drill through with the QD as a guide out the other side of the stock for better hole alignment but thats just me being picky as I had to slightly oversize the screw hole as the material inside the stock is not parallel with the material on the outside so the QD does not sit flat inside as such.

If I recall correctly, I have seen guys drill out the roll pin hole and place the QD cup there. What you have demonstrated here seems much more preferable. Thank you.

Only concern would be how stable it is since it is hollow.

I'm guessing that the polymer is sufficiently rigid, and the screw is doing all the work, no?

Nit sure what you're using for a spacer.

The material the stock is made from is really thick Polymer/ABS/Nylon (Or whatever) at the point I drilled I don't have concerns about the strength plus the larger hole is really tight on the QD mount to the point I had to press it in with my vice and that will add stability so its not just the screw holding it in place, the spacer is just 3x nylon washers that I had lying around that I glued together and then to the bottom of the QD so it all held together for easier install you could used anything that fits really.
