EAA Witness P Compact 10mm Questions?
« on: July 08, 2024, 07:06:54 PM »
Saw one of these polymer Tanfoglio compacts under the EAA marque for sale in a local pawn & gun shop for $400 - seems like a good deal as the gun appears to have little if any use. It appears to be the exact same thing as the Tanfoglio Force Compact F currently being imported by the IFG.

I have a few questions:

1. Where can I get parts and service for this gun? (Thought EAA was now defunct, but will Tangfolio support EAA-marked guns?)

2. What magazines can I use for this gun (10mm) aside from Tanfoglio? Will any CZ, Mec Gar or other brands function reliably?

3. I’d be interested in getting this gun’s slide machined for a Red Dot Sight — who would be a good ‘smith to do that kind of work?

4. Will longer 10mm barrels from larger EAA / Tanfoglio guns work in this Compact?

Thanks!

An answer to the red dot machining question, I use Patriot Defense in Texas at https://patriotdefense.com/. They may be able to help you with some parts too. Also try Italian Firearms Group in Texas at https://www.italianfirearmsgroup.com/

And yes, the guns are exactly the same, just different importer.

Thanks for that info - looks like Patriot has a lot of what I’d need for that gun!

I have a slightly bigger brother to the gun you are considering. My gun is a compact frame with a full size slide on it. The slide made it to Patriot defense for milling. Small write up here: https://czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=115028.0

I have a few questions:

1. Where can I get parts and service for this gun? (Thought EAA was now defunct, but will Tangfolio support EAA-marked guns?)I don't know the answer to this. A lot of it will depend on the parts you want.

2. What magazines can I use for this gun (10mm) aside from Tanfoglio? Will any CZ, Mec Gar or other brands function reliably? I would only use Mecgar. Last I heard they are the current OEM for Tanfoglio

3. I’d be interested in getting this gun’s slide machined for a Red Dot Sight — who would be a good ‘smith to do that kind of work? As stated before Patriot Defense

4. Will longer 10mm barrels from larger EAA / Tanfoglio guns work in this Compact? Yes as long as they are the same outside diameter. Your gun should be .550" OD I have an 9mm barrel i run in mine that is about 1/2" longer than the slide.

Thanks!

So, from the link, it looks like it took Patriot @ two weeks turn around to get the optics cut on your slide, which is not bad.

Actually, I’m getting interested in the steel-frame compact (7 oz. heavier), but those are hard to find in 10mm. Plenty of them in 9mm, though, go figure.
