Just got back from the range testing my new SS barrel for my old mystery Tz-75.
Much better than the old worn barrel. It was pointed out that the “original” barrel that came with it isn’t actually the original. Fired some Swiss Tombac 124 FMJ’s and some Norma MHP 108 HPs. All functioned perfectly. Accuracy was much better than the “old” barrel.

Slow fire offhand at 10 yards. 15 rounds. I was aiming at the red dot. The bottom and top holes were definitely called pulls on my part.

For some reason, about half of all the Tanfoglio small frame guns that I have ever owned shot low for me.  I see your gun, even with your new barrel is doing the same thing.  The only answer is to raise the rear sight or lower the front sight to bring the muzzle up.  I fixed one of my worst offenders by lowering the front sight and installing a fiber optic front to help me pick up the sight faster.  The machine shop that cut the dove tail into the front, swore at me when I picked the finished slide up....saying the Tanfo steel slide was really hardened way more than they expected. They got it done in spite of their complaining and the fiber optic tapped in the slot without too much trouble....and is wedged really tight and does not move under recoil.  shoots spot on and very accurate....and best of all, I can really see that front sight now.

I had a large frame Witness in .45. Sold it to a buddy (when I bought my 97) who has a mill and he milled the slide for an optic. Went through 2 bits milling it and said it was the hardest steel he had ever milled on a gun.

Adding an adjustable rear sight is quite easy. All of my Tanfos sport a TPA LPU series rear sight. It's low profile works well with the factory front sight. I don't remember the actual part number, but it is the "old style" CZ85 sight that fits the Tanfoglio cut.

So would this sight fit my old TZ-75?

This is the sight I've used on my Witness models. It's available in white dot and all black as well. It measures .345" front to back for the dovetail. Your best bet is to take a caliper and measure your dovetail. If it doesn't match, you can check the dimensions of other sights on Fusion's site.

How does this sight get along with your hammer? Does it extend out over the rear of the slide/ hammer? Or does it stay out of the way?

Yes, it hangs over the rear, but it doesn't hinder access to the hammer.
