New CZ/Colt Woodsman?
« on: July 09, 2024, 06:51:07 PM »
Would anyone besides me find interest in a modern take on a new CZ/Colt Woodsman?  CZ, as far as I know, hasn't ever ventured into a pistol that is in the same ballpark as the Ruger Mark series, Browning Buck Marks, High Standards, or Woodsmans.  What would ya'll like to see in one?  Personally, I'd like to see a range of something that can compete with the Buck Mark on the low price point end, and the S&W 41 on the performance high end.  I dunno, since the acquisition of Colt, maybe they could gain use of modern metals/materials/processes to bring back target and plinker models?
If at first you don't succeed, get a bigger hammer.

That’s an intriguing idea, though not sure we’ll see it given the plethora of 22 semi automatics available.  Certainly would be interested, though.

But then again, who would have thought S&W would produce a lever action……..

Guns just like cars, low prices and high performance don't go hand in hand.

Cheap 22s are a dime a dozen.

I think that’s an excellent idea: Colt Management should break away from CZ and form their own company churning out retro pistols from yesteryear: period faithful 1911s, 1903 / 1908 hammerless pocket pistols, Woodsmen, Colt revolvers, Peacemakers, etc. etc. etc. They’ve had a lot of experience with that at Colt, churning out retro products in lieu of innovation. Just have them start making pre 1950 designs at premium prices and leave CZ alone.
