Switched 83s.....
« on: October 13, 2024, 11:50:06 AM »
Well, as much as I love the 83, I hate the small, hooked trigger guard on mine.  I looked for a round one to replace it, with no joy at that time.

Fast forward (remember that I work at a gun shop). A friend wanted my 83 so bad, he made me an obscenely high offer for it with just the 10 round mag. I wouldn't sell the high caps, as they go back to the 90s when I carried an 82 as an LEO off duty gun.

I accepted his offer and turned around bought a 1994, Czech Republic, blued 83 with the large trigger guard for $380, so I sold him the newer 83 at an incredible profit.  The 83 is my EDC, so I don't mind it being worn.  I spent the extra money on 300 rounds of .380!  I even had  a spare pair of Turkish made, English walnut grips to dress it up, and still have my mags.

Its in CA 10 DROS jail, so I'll have to carry my Ruger LC380 for a bit until it gets out. Pics to come.

I pulled the pin and ordered a CZ-75 D PCR Compact 9mm with alloy frame.  It weighs about the same as the CZ-83!  Probably be my winter carry gun.
