Fitting threaded barrel to SP-01 Tactical?
« on: November 18, 2024, 06:31:06 PM »
I contacted CZ Custom about installation/fitting of one of their threaded barrels and they said they'd be happy to do it if it needed fitting.

I thought I'd check it out before just sending the entire gun out, so I ordered a barrel from them and had it delivered. Placed an online order Friday and received it today (Monday) - super fast service! I've had several transactions with CZ Custom and everything has always been prompt and smooth!

I assembled my SP-01 with the new barrel and it seems to fit fine. It goes fully into battery smoothly and when I install the slide onto the frame, operation seems fine there is no perceptible front-to-back play.

The only 'weirdness' is that the new barrel does not have a dimple for the op rod like my OEM barrel, but seems to work fine anyway.

My suppressor mounts fine and is aligned perfectly with the bore.

In short, it does not seem to require fitting, and CZ Custom did say "if required".

I think the next thing to do is test fire. Am I missing anything?

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like it should be fine. The dimple is no issue and is only there on some barrels to help center the guide rod for assembly. Once the slide is back on the frame the guide rod is lodged in a pocket on the frame and there's little if any contact with barrel at that point.
