And yet I called cz customer service, asked for a part and it was at my door in less then a week. Free of charge.

Yeah ok. What part? They refused to send me what I need on a now 22 month old warranty claim after admitting they had the parts on site. I won't be getting rid of the CZ's I already have but after this experience I won't be buying any new models either.

Well, that’s definitely an anomaly these days. Most folks here can’t even find their desired parts in stock at CZ-USA, let alone get their parts free of charge and delivered promptly.

That sounds like a hell of a business model for COLT-cz: don’t stock / sell most of the parts that customers are clamoring for, and when you do have a few parts in stock, promptly send them free of charge to the customer,  including shipping & handling! Not surprising though, considering Colt’s history of near perpetual bankruptcy.

What part was it?

I bought a used p09c nocturne from Cabelas. Didn't have the safety lever in the box. So I called cz, told them what I was missing. The gentleman on the phone put me on hold for about a minute and came back to tell me he has a safety lever in hand and will mail it to me ASAP.

Awhile back I sold all my cz. Then I got the chance to buy them back and so I did. Biggest mistake I made was listening to the negativity on this forum and selling it all.
I'm just very lucky that I was able to get it all back for what I sold it all for.

The safety lever is a part that is supposed to come with the hammer fired P series pistols that's why they sent it to you. They flat refused to send me the lci retaining nut and spring that I need to complete my warranty claim unless I send them the gun.

But it was a used gun. They didnt ask for proof or purchase or anything. Fact remains that I needed a part and they sent it immediately.

Well good for you. Now call and tell them you'd like to have a spare barrel or an extractor or maybe an extra hammer and see what they say.

It is good for me.. Just how you share the negative I'm sharing the positive. They didn't have to send me that part being I bought it used and well under the cost of a new one.

they sent it out asap because it was a SAFETY, maybe the minute you were on hold they were talking to their lawyers.

I'm sharing a factual experience with CZ and the fact that it is negative is relevant to the situation they are in today. To be fair CZ-has been faltering in both the qc and cs depts. for some time now and it does predate any Colt involvement.
I've defended CZ many times over the years because there was a time years ago when CZ customer service was the very best of the best and they would go above and beyond anything they had to do to satisfy the customer. That has changed.
No they didn't have to send you that safety but the did. Hopefully you'll always have that kind of experience with them. Years ago I dropped an S&W slide I was cleaning and broke the rear sight. S&W sent me a replacement at no charge. They didn't have to do that. That was a good experience. The next 2 interactions with S&W were warranty issues and the results were dismal and required 2 different guns making 4 trips for one and 3 for another before the problem was resolved.

The p09C can be setup as a decocker or safety. They include it when you buy one. Mine was already set up as a decocker and the safety lever needed to switch to a safety model is what was missing. Nothing about the gun was unsafe. If it was unsafe Cabela's would not have sold it . At least not the one I go to, the gentlemen in the used dept are pretty knowledgeable about what they are selling and buying.

Not saying the gun was unsafe, but the fact that you needed a part for the safety is what gets the lawyers goat. just the WORD "SAFETY LEVER" makes it a priority. Remember this is America where everyone has the right to sue anyone.

Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer nor have I played one on TV.

This has ZERO to do with lawyers in any way. They would have sent him the decocker levers if those were what he was missing. There have been occasions where a gun would be shipped and was missing one of these parts or the other and CZ would simply send you what you needed. There's just no "safety" or "lawyer" issue going on here.

So the 99% of unhappy CZ customers who can’t find their parts in stock — ever — are just giving off a negative vibe? 😝

I didn't say anything about a vibe. You and him have negative comments about cz. I had a positive comment.

so any missing part would be sent out, if that's the case just tell them you gun was missing the part you want and they will sent it. simple fix to this problem.
