I posted this on another thread but after seeing you so determined to buy a 712 I just wanted to make sure you make your decision after you have my personal testimony:
Quote:
Mine blew up because of a broken firing pin. The pin snapped and remained stuck in forward position. When I reloaded, the shotshell was pushed towards the chamber not by the face of the bolt but by the firing pin. The result was the shotshell went kaboom before entering the chamber, the shotgun was totaled, and my hand was burned and sore.
I wonder if CZ have the intention to address this problem by issuing a recall fo replacing the firing pins. I will write them an email. If they are not willing to do anything about this situation I will send them back the 712 magnum they sent me as a replacement after my first 712 blew up.
After hearing how many similar incidents happened, I simplly cannot trust this brand anymore.

Please do not take this as a personal grudge against CZ.
I own two CZ rifles and four CZ pistols and all of them are among my favorite firearms. I'm a CZ fan because they make good, reliable, excellent designed firearms and they sell them at a fair price.
However, the CZ semiautos made in Turkey by Huglu are not worthy of the CZ name. It's not only me who had this unpleasant incident, but also a friend of mine who is a member of the FFF Boards and a gunsmith /gunshop employee had two totaled 712 coming in his shop in only one week. This is not an isolated incident, nor a coincidence anymore.
As I already stated, all I want is for CZ to come forward and address this problem. I would really love to keep my 712 Magnum because I love the way it looks and the way it shoots. But I just don't feel comfortable anymore mounting that gun close to my face after knowing my bad experience is not an isolated incident.
