Why in the world does it have a firing pin block?!  I'd buy it if it was truly a shadow variant with a decocker.  I may still get one and see if I can swap uppers with my accushadow 2.

Wonder when it will be released?

Cheers,
Toby

I heard about it from the owner of the lgs/range I shoot at. No one knows the release date yet only that it is coming. Obviously they added a FPB to make it drop safe for carry purposes also it is a decocker. They also went to a rear dovetail independent of the optic plate which I do like.
I'll at least give it a good hard look when they hit the shelves.

I don't know why this would even be called Shadow 2. They could have named it P-01 OR or P-01 v2.0 :D

Oh I'd give that  look at the same time I'd like to get my eyes on the Shadow 2 Target. But... time will tell, just, how much time!

CZ has never been quick on the releases.
not quite a Shadow anymore, so this will confuse the nomenclature quite a bit.

Ambi decock levers which will be nice if can get the parts, as can add to P01 and PCR.

so decocker, firing pin block, Nocturne sight dovetails and I will guess direct mount RMSc and Holosun K, like the nocturne, so no plates for other optics.

nothing you need, but everything everyone else wanted.

IMO it is probably best for a carry gun to have a firing pin block. If you want a shadow 2 compact without a block do what I did and buy one. I like it better than my DWX compact

They just released a Shadow 2 compact that doesn't have the block.  It's designed to be a carry gun.  Why does a decocker have have a firing pin block?  The whole point is that you decock it and carry it at half cock.

I want a Shadow (no firing pin block) variant with a decocker for competition.  Optic ready with

It will be confusing for sure calling this a Shadow variant.  They should have called it a SP01 Tactical 2 or something.

Cheers,
Toby

What if there's a failure such as a broken sear (admittedly not likely but...) and the half cock notch doesn't catch the hammer? Are you missing the point of the additional drop safety provided by the FPB? I personally don't mind an FPB on an gun like this. On the other hand I'd never own a 1911 with one.

I suspect Cajun Gun Works or CZ custom could remove the firing pin block

The parts already exist if that's what one desires to do.

I'd not legal to remove a safety device from a firearm in competition.

Hence my reason for wanting a shadow decocker.

Toby

So it's like the Sig "Carry" pistols with a full sized frame and shorter barrel and slide...plus optics ready.

It does seem more like an evolution of the P-01 or SP-01 Tactical but has the Shadow 2's higher beaver tail and undercut trigger guard. The Shadow 2 Compact has been a huge success so, from a marketing perspective, I can see why they'd go with the Shadow name.

The .40 cal magazine in the line drawing is a head scratcher.

I've been agonizing over a Shadow Compact for competition use but prefer decockers so will def buy one of these. The shorter slide and barrel also mean it should easily make CO weight for IDPA--even with an added magwell  ;D
