It's been my experience that a good CZ spoils you.

A mediocre CZ is still usually more accurate than many of the other "top" brands.  I've spent about the same money to improve a couple of my M&Ps that the pistols cost me to start with.  In the end I've got what I want to carry/shoot (micro 9/40, even .357 SIG and compact/sub compact .40's).

Keep impressing them with that CZ and soon you'll have them buying CZs to compete against you with.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Another fun day with my stainless 75b at our weekly outlaw defensive match.

Came in 2nd in my division ( concealed carry irons) & in the top 50% overall.  Did better at the steels, but not as good as I’d like.  Was more deliberate at longer shots and it paid off.

For me, these evening matches are challenging as it’s hot (high 80s/ low 90s) when we start @ 6pm and the sun is always in your eyes.  Further, I help with set up, and at my age, that taps my strength before the match.  Regardless, it’s fun, especially with the folks I shoot with- good group of guys.

Next week’s defensive match is the next opportunity for the 75b.  This Sat is another ICORE match with my S&W 581.

Happy 4th of July

Seems like I saw a quote the other day from one of the famous western sheriffs or gunfighters:  Speed is fine.  Accuracy is final.  I think it's on the wall at the gun range I belong to.

Came in 2nd in my division in our outlaw defensive match last night.  Despite that, I didn’t do as well as I had in previous matches.

Am convinced I am still shooting too fast to ensure accuracy, especially at longer ranges.  It was a hot start to the match- sunny and 92.  The Sun was less of an issue later as clouds came in and obscured it, so it wasn’t in my eyes.

Still had fun and m enjoying myself.  The gun is running like a scaled ape.  Am really happy I decided to shoot it this season.

Next match is USPSA on Sat with next week’s monthly IDPA match.

Threads like this can be a goldmine for identifying major causes of error. Thank you for continuing to update it.

It seems like your best performances include some comment related to deliberately focusing on accuracy. Does this mean that you're winning matches by avoiding time penalties that others are incurring?

1- my pleasure in chronicling my adventures with my 75b.

2- I am faster than most of my squad- both in foot speed and shooting ( both drawing and getting the first shot off and double taps), but my front sight being bold, isn’t set for precise distance shots, which is where I usually fail.  So I am trying my best to be more deliberate and disciplined in those longer shots.  I also haven’t repeated any of the penalties my biddies have ;D

Shot our monthly USPSA match, came in 2nd in production division.  Some challenging stages.

Surprised I did well on the weak hand strong hand stage( also our last stage), with no no shoots or misses.  Only had one far target challenge me today, a “tuxedo” target on the second to last stage.  Was beat due to the heat IMO and I rushed the shots.

I am disappointed at how tired I’ve become at the last 2 stages, especially in the heat, but that’s no excuse.  And yes, I drink water throughout the match.  I either run the tablet or RO/ SO & that limits my time to rest during the match.

Regardless, another fun day shooting with like minded folks.  Next match is our monthly IDPA match next Sat.
