Looking to upgrade the TRS-25
« on: May 05, 2025, 06:06:32 PM »
Hello everyone! I haven't posted in a LONG time, hope everyone is doing well.

So I'm looking to replace the Bushnell TRS-25 dot on my VZ2008 7.62x39. There is nothing wrong with it, I just want something a little newer with a sharper dot that will still cowitness the iron sights (Mojo ghost rear) on the NEA upper handguard rail. Also, FAB defense folding stock with factory angle. Budget being ~$250 usd

Here's what I'm currently considering and would appreciate any and all input on these, as well as other suggestions if you have them. Closed emitters only.

Bushnell TRS-26 3moa ~$130: Seems like it's just an improved TRS-25 at 2x price I paid many years ago. Claims to have longer battery life, sharper dot. 26mm instead of 25mm.

Vortex Crossfire Gen II 2moa ~$150: Appears to have proper height low profile mount. 20mm lens.  Available in red or green dot.

SIG SAUER Romeo5 20mm 2moa ~$150: I really like the shake awake feature. The low profile mount appears to sit higher than the TRS-25 since it's not integrated but I did see a post claiming it does cowitness.  Can anyone confirm?

Lucid Optics blue dot E7 21x18mm ~$230: This one seems, interesting. It appears to mount very low for cowitnness.  Shake awake which I think I'd like. It has a blue 32moa horse-shoe with a 4moa central aiming dot and 2 lines to bring focus to the 4moa dot. This seems interesting and would really like to hear if anyone has experience with it or similar options.

Thank you for reading, I'm looking forward to hearing your opinions, advice, experiences and differnt suggestions.

Look into Primary Arms:

I have a couple of their items.  I haven't put them through any torture tests but they've held up, while one of my Bushnell TRS-25's has gone kaput with light use.  The Primary Arms make is generally a lot of value for the money.
