Question regarding CZ75B in .40S&W
« on: May 04, 2002, 04:14:02 PM »
I have a question for those of you who have a CZ75B in .40S&W.  Would someone be able to take a measurement of the diameter of the hole in the end of the slide where the full length recoil spring guide rod protrudes?  I have purchased a CZ full length guide rod (.40S&W) for my 9mm CZ75B, and have opened up a hole for the rod. So far with ~0.003" clearance, the rod doesent swivel enough past the lug on the barrel to be able to insert it.  A measurement of a factory part would be a great help, as I don't want to get too loose a fit.

Thanks Glock,
In the meantime I opened up the hole for the 0.183" diameter guide rod to 0.189" and was able to slip the rod in fine, but without the spring.  With the spring in place - NO GO.  I ground a flat on the head of the rod and was able to install it by compressing the spring/rod in place before inserting the barrel.  I am not concerned with the flat bothering the operation, but... if the factory hole is 0.205", I could open up the hole more and make the assembly/dissassembly process NORMAL.

I am aware of the fact that a full length guide rod may not be an improvement for the operation of the pistol, but I just don't like how the Wolff springs kink in place with the short rods.  The availlability of a factory part to do the job just made it a must-do for me.

I just have to say that I appreciate this forum immensely for swapping info about CZ's and shooting in general!

On my .40 cal CZ75, the hole for the guide rod is 0.206 inch, and the guide rod diameter is 0.189 inch.  Have a good one, and shoot safe.
