CZ75B mil, just gotta love it.

I picked up my new '75B mil this week. I field stripped it, wiped it down with CLP and took it out shootin' today.

I love it! I put 80 rounds though it, reloaded the mags and put another 80 through it. 160 rounds of cheap WWW (Walmart Winchester Whitebox) FMJ with zero FTE or any other problems. It was a breeze to take down and clean too.

I shot pretty good with it at 15 yards. The first couple of targets were a little off to the left (as was my enclosed factory test target), but as I got used to the feel of it, I was able to easily compensate and got more bullseyes as I went along.

Next weekend I'll try some Federal 115gr HPs and some Cor-Bon +Ps.

For $299 this is one fine firearm! I'm very glad I didn't spend $400-500 on a Beretta 92FS.

Let me start by saying I really like my CZ's and think they are a great deal for the money. However they are no Beretta. Thank God the US military is going in with the good ol M9 and not the CZ75.... I'd hate to be a soldier worrying about cleaning the ejector every 300rnds during battle.

Working while being dirty and abused is the sign of a true military weapon. Unfortunatly so far not what my CZ has shown me.

However I do love to shoot it. It is very accurate. And I did pay a lot less.

I forgot to mention in my 11-10-01 post that my 75 mil's sights were off, I had to aim to the right about 2-3 inches. (My mil didn't come with a test target). Easy to compensate for but I will try to tap that rear sight over to the left. Also, surprised to hear about the need to clean the extractor every 300 rnds (thanks to the update from "feed the monkey"). I agree, this will be a pain, especially for a "combat" gun.

Hmm my 75 has went thru about 600 rounds of Blazer, WWB, Win-Clean and
other stuff. and i've not cleaned it in quite a while. The last 250 was in one evening.

The average US soldier doesn't carry a handgun.

support personnel..MPs ..officers and others ..will prob never see an egagement
with a sidearm that exceeds over 100 rounds.

I bought a new 92FS (USA) for Y2K. kept it in the box unfired,,
The Dealer i bought if from for $489.00 offered me a whopping $250 in May.

The gun had the worst finish and trigger pull than any previous Beretta i've owned.
I once had an issued Police Special..it is an LEO gun..and was a much better pistol.

I'll take my CZs and Stainless Taurus PT92 over any of the new 92FS.

I find it hard to believe that one must clean, disassemble, the
extractor every 300 rds..I have 5-600 rds through mine with
normal cleaning after range sessions and no problems at all..
It seems to me that the external extractor would need less
attention than the internal jobs on the 1911..At the present
time I detail strip and clean the 1911 about twice a year and
have no problems there..
Just my thoughts on the subject..
Thanks

I disassembled the extractor on mine to check on the "300 rounds " residue deposit and found that mine wasn't too bad, even after 600 rounds. I mainly wanted to see if there was any packing grease under there which there was. All clean now.... except for maybe in the firing pin tunnel. Any obsessive compulsive gun cleaners gone that far yet?
