I just returned from the range with my new CZ 75BD. I picked the gun up from my FFL last night, cleaned and lubed it thoroughly last night, and then took it to the range this morning. In total, I put 4 different type of ammo through it--total rounds expended 400. I shot:
- 200 rounds Winchester white box
- 100 Rounds Wolf ammo
- 50 rounds Remington UMC
- 50 rounds CCI Blazer
No one malfunction of any kind, period, zip. I found ot to be very accurate, ergonomically outstanding and very smooth to operate. It ate everything I gave it without complaint. It made shooting fun! The more I shot it, the more I wanted to shoot it. In fact, I had not planned to shoot all 400 rounds!
The ONLY negative I could find was that the trigger was great out of the box, but not perfect. It was not quite as smooth as I would prefer--but that's really nitpicking to be honest. If my mind is not playing games with me, it smoothed out a little the more I shot it. So, I would expect this to improve with time. The trigger was smooth enough from the start that I was often surprised when the break point fired the gun--very nice out of the box. I am sure a bit of smithing and maybe another 600 rounds would make this trigger perfect--perhaps the best I've shot.
This gun is a total keeper--the shoot me if I ever think of selling this gun kind of gunit goes into my growing collection with great respect and pride. Everyone has their pet gun makers. Glock'ers defend theirs strongly, and so on, and so on. However, this gun is just flat awesome regardless of the price. When the price IS factored in, I am not sure why they do no market just a little more--it should be the best selling 9mm out there.
If you are on the fence about buying this gun, be assured in knowing it is an awesome gun that runs and/or bests anything out there. The price just makes it a no-brainer.
