Makarov Grips?
« on: March 30, 2005, 09:41:48 AM »
Hakan, word has it from the makarov forum that you made a grip for that pistol.  Actually attaching some panels to the side of an extra one-piece grip.  I looked at your website and did not see them listed there, will these become part of your regular offerings?

Thanks,
John

Shhh John! that's supposed to be secret to prevent the idea from being copied....just kiddin' my friend ;)

Altough, I had also given a thought to making grips like this before, it was another grip maker who had tried it out first(to my knowledge) and posted pics of it on one of the gun boards.I was told that, he was asked if he'd make more to sell, but he wasn't interested. So a friend(and a forum member here) send me the pics and the threads about the grips and asked me to give it a try...he also sent me couple of original grips to be used as a base. The experiment with using Birdseye Amboyna wasn't that bad at all and got my second order for another gentlemen who had "Black Ash Burls" grips on his Rami.

...and here is his Rami.

Yes sir I'm going to include them in my regular inventory, but my problem is to find the base grips over here.Same friend who I made the first set also offered to supply me with them from U.S as long as he can find them, but I just have to wait untill they come in. I'm aslo offering to those who contacts me for a set to send their own grips in...also few extra in return for a price deduction. So, if you'd be interested to send in your own set, I'd be more than happy to work on them :)

Please e mail me for the details :)

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Hakan.

Those are amazing Hakan...absolutely beautiful.  You truly are gifted.

I can work on guns, cars, whatever, all day long, but I have absolutely no artistic skill whatsoever.  It's just one of those things that you're either born with or aren't.

Hakan, they are outstanding.  You are a true craftsman.

I agree with Dan, while there are a few things I can do, something like this is not one of them.

Thanks a bunch guys...I'm really flattered. I'm sure you guys can do it too if you tried it for a few times. I often wish I was a lot more clever on other things too...cars for example. It's so darn expensive to put them in a workshop here.:\

Thanks again guys.

Hakan.
