Here she is with the Mesquite grips
« on: April 13, 2005, 04:45:10 PM »
Just thought I would share a picture of the Colt with Hakan's Mesquite grips, which arrived a week ago. Sorry for the quality of the picture, but all I have is a flatbed scanner. Never got a digital camera, as I am creatively challenged. However, Hakan is obviously and artist. These grips make the Colt look like a custom pistol. And the best part is they feel wonderful also. It just doesn't get any better than this.

Thanks Hakan. Now I am really looking forward to receiving my grips for the CZ 75B Compact.

Mike
Just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not really after you!

Those are beautiful.  I can't wait to see how the mesquite that I sent to Hakan turns out.

Dan,

I'm sure your grips will turn out wonderfully, just as mine did. With Hakan making them, how could they be otherwise.

Good shooting,

Mike

You guys are making me blush here...I'm flattered and I greatly appreciate the compliments.

These grips are made from a piece of Mesquite I had before and they were actually designed by another gentlemen who ordered them to be cut flat at the bottom.Yes...I'm getting old Leo, cuz I forgot it and cut them bevelled :)  Now I'm working on  another set for him.

I really like the way they looked on that 1911 though...:eek

Mike,

Thanks for posting the pics...is that a parkerized finish  ?

Hakan,

The pistol is stainless steel with a bead blasted finish. It actually is lighter looking than the picture. I suppose that because it was scanned it looks darker than normal.

Good shooting,

Mike
