How many of you have a back up pistol for competition?

If you do, is the back up exactly like the main competition pistol or is it different.

I've been thinking that for training one might have a more stock/standard pistol that is used for 65-75% of training and then the main competition pistol might be lighter and more tuned to competition but both are very similar.

Anyone does something like that or are both pistols the same or do you just shoot what you have until it breaks and your back up is a completely different brand?

I always bring two near identical CZ-75's to matches.
They are both 9mm, have identical triggerjobs and sights.
I have been forced to switch to the backup gun a couple of times, glad I had it.

Right now my competition gun is an 85 Combat. I have been considering getting a second 85 Combat as a back up but currently bring my carry gun, a P-01 as a back up if the 85 goes down. I primarily shoot IDPA SSP division, but if I were shooting ESP with the 85 in single action I would have to complete the match with the P-01 in double action.

I always bring a backup gun to pistol competitions.  My backup is very similar to my primary, SP-01, but one has wood grips and the other has rubber.  I've seen way too many people pay 1000's of dollars to go to a big match and then have gun troubles.  Whether from a bad part or bad ammo or just dumb luck.  It's reassuring to just have a backup.  And CZ's aren't that expensive to begin with.  It was really bad when I shot open and had to have two 3K guns.  Ouch.
